I recognize a bunch of the same stuff I have.

I'm in the middle of shelving everything again in my theater room, along with reorganizing the room setup/layout. I've managed to get all my DVDs on the shelf and I'm up to G on blu-rays. I think I'll only be able to fit the H on the remaining space on that rack. I think I'll need to bring in a bookshelf till I get something better for the rest of them.

The nice thing about the ceiling being vaulted, as it is, is that it lets me hide boxes of VHS and old game stuff behind those shelves without it being too hideous.

The bad thing about that vaulted ceiling is that I've hit my head on it more than I care to count.

That sloped wall really fucks up your shelf space. I can relate.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13

Great collections as always guys.
I was browsing the old threads and looking the collections and was thinking of the old time and old posters and one of them I remember was a huge fan of collecting who at that time seemed very proud of his movies, but he stopped posting years ago, right now I don't remember his name he used to call his collection THE VAULT.
Somebody knows what happened to him and his passion for movies.

Especially when I ended up having to bring in a bookshelf for the rest of the blu-rays. I had to put it against the back wall. Way too tall to put against the sloped wall unless I wanted it out in the middle of the room.

We have a few of the same bookcases, another in a bedroom and one in the garage and I ended up having to cannibalize a few of their shelves to get everything on this one.

Good question, man. It's been several years (probably 5+), so I can't remember exactly. I believe it's this same figure though, if it helps:

Awesome setup, Jonno2006. I really like the glass case and collectible items. I'd like to reorganize to have some of the shelf slots holding collectibles and their corresponding movie(s), but I just don't have the space for that until I can dump a bunch of movies, unfortunately.

I wish I only had 589. I'm fortunate to have been able to amass such a collection, but I really wish I didn't have so many. All the money that's gone into it and the space it takes up, it's more of a burden than anything.

Some of us have had years and years to collect stuff. I've been collecting movies since I got my first VCR, so that almost 3 decades. Granted, there wasn't a whole lot of collecting at the beginning but Godzilla vs Megalon was my start.

Seems to me that action figures are way more space-consuming than DVDs.

Anyway, here's my living room wall:

And let's not forget the VHS shelves:

Or the books:

I've been collecting for about 5 years. xD My parents and I had VHS tapes until from around 1996-2003, because for some reason until 5-6 years ago I kinda stopped watching movies.

I complain more about box sets that come in bulky or non-standard cases(Fraggle Rock, The Flinstones, Planet of the Apes). I used to like fancy cases but now I need the space. Given the choice, I go with the smallest option for a set.

Disregard the horse, it's my moms. She told me the only way I could over run the living room with movies was if I worked around the horse. And yes, the Fozzy CD is signed by Chris Jericho. Also I put the Iron Man 2 soundtrack on top of the entertainment center because I thought the case is really cool. I'd love to get some feedback from you guy.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13

I know this is a DVD thread, but I was wondering where some of you get your poster frames, figurines (especially that large Sauron one, how much was that and where did you get it?), DVD shelves, etc. Everyone seems to have nice poster frames; was wondering where you get them and the average prices you guys spend. I'd like to get the kind of stuff you guys have, but I don't have a large amount to spend. I got a few poster frames a few years ago from Walmart, but they're shit. Also I wonder where you get those movie figurines; The ones I see at DVD stores are way overpriced; I imagine that Sauron figurine would cost $300-500 at the stores around I live by. Is that what you guys are generally spending for your collectibles, or do you know some well-priced places to shop? If you guys are spending $100s of dollars, I guess that stuff is out of my league for amount of disposable income. I'd appreciate any advice, thanks.

If you're asking about my Sauron, it's from Sideshow. No clue if they're still selling it or for how much, I bought it several years ago.

You know you have a lot of movies when you get a title that starts with A or B that you add to the shelf. As you start adjusting everything down the line, you hit some box sets that were at the end of the shelf. That starts an avalanche of more movies you have to slide down and soon you're near the end and having to slide 15 movies or so, just because you added the one. Takes me about 30 minutes just to add in one movie sometimes.

These are good pictures and bring back memories before kids. Now I have placed all of my DVDs in Case Logic Binders. What took up multiple shelves and floor space in my home, now takes up a single shelf in my office. Each book holds about 100 DVDs and is alphabetized making it easy to find a flick.

I only have 400+ along with a couple dozen shows and I use the Meritline hanging file cases to save space (cover art place elsewhere) very limited space ad it was just not appealing having it out.

There are some nicely organized collections above.
