ELVIS (1979-John Carpenter) finally!
It seems Shout Factory is finally putting this out! Hopefully with a Russell/Carpenter commentary track.

Looks to be the extended version! There were 3 versions from what I have heard. The original Tv movie, The overseas Theatrical release version and the extended version.
March 2nd 2010.

The same person who sent me this link also stated that Shout contacted Russell, Carpenter and Ronnie McDowell ( The country artist who did all the music for the film ) for an interview session/commentary track. But he doesn't know for sure what came out of it. Really hoping this comes to pass.

I don't know, I'm doubtful on this one. Where's the official announcement? Amazon had it listed to come out back in 2007 too and they pulled it. I'll be incredibly happy if it does get released, but I'm still skeptical on this.

Yeah I agree, this has been on and off several times due to rights issues. Hopefully everything pans out. I happen to have a friend who is close to someone near the project. He is the one who told me it was coming out along with a link. This person is not involved with the release or shout factory directly, but he has been told a few things. Hopefully everything pans out.

So is this the uncut version or the edited down "feature-length" version released overseas (and on VHS in the States). It sure appears to be the cut version as there's no mention of it being the mini-series and it looks like it's only one disc. Oh well, better than nothing...

Amazon lists the runtime as 170mins. I'm not positive but I was told the original runtime was 150mins, and the theater cut was 105mins. So that must mean it's the extended version?
