Obviously, you're not a golfer.

Although it COULD be much-rumored Huckleberry Hound Eclipse set.

Looking back, it seems that Criterion always uses animals in its cryptic release hints. So, dogs are as good as anything else.

Re: Criterion Newsletter October 09

I actually just watched my Criterion dvd of 8 1/2 last week, up-converted through my blu-ray player, and it looked pretty damn good - I don't think I'll be needing the upgrade.

Maybe it's a multi-layered hint, with 8 1/2 being only a part of it.

Oh hell, let's stretch the 'wing' part you mentioned (a reference to dogfight?) by adding this suggestion: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0018578/

Re: Criterion Newsletter October 09

This also showed up in the newsletter:

DEEP DISCOUNT DVD SALE

Starting this Friday, our friends at deepdiscount.com are going to be offering an exclusive, limited-edition Criterion T-shirt to customers who order more than $50 worth of Criterion product. The dark green shirt with silver Criterion logo isn't available anywhere else, not even the Criterion website, so if you want one, get on over to Deep Discount DVD while supplies last!

The sale hasn't come up on DD yet, though. Not sure if it's only a shirt they're offering or if they'll have a sale on the DVDs themselves.

I'd imagine that the blue means Blu-Ray...
