Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

It looks like all the Cinematic Titanic eps are coming off Hulu in about a week. I believe CT dissolved as a corporation, so I'm not sure what that means for future release possibilities.

It would be cool if Shout would rerelease them as a set.

There's still free stuff on Hulu if you view it through a PC web browser. However, they're pushing the paid service hard.

Just navigate the site, and any title without a "subscribe" banner on it is free. There's also a "free" filter check box in the top left of some browsing pages:
http://www.hulu.com/tv/popular/shows

Cinematic Titanic requires a subscription to view on Hulu though.

Edit: strike that, they're viewable for free as well, but the website is confusing. They're clearing trying to push people into the "free trial," even for free titles.

Kino is putting out a version of Astro Zombies on Oct. 11 that comes with an all new Rifftrax commentary:

https://www.amazon.com/Astro-Zombies...=astro+zombies

Apparently Rifftrax will release a VOD version the same day.

Very torn on the current rewards for the MST3K revival. They now have a "mystery box" as an option instead of the DVD or BD reward. I'm so tempted by this possibly very limited and potentially awesome mystery box, but then it's another $100 for the BD set.

I went with the mystery box. I figure I can buy the DVD said from Amazon later.

That was my first thought. But what if the Kickstarter set has some exclusives in it, physical and/or digital?

And it's 12 or 13 episodes, right? So that's like three of the normal sets that we pay $30+ for anyway, right? Obviously trying to convince myself here.....

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

I agonized over whether to do the BD set or the mystery box. I ended up going with the BDs only because I had a difficult time imagining a "thing" that I would actually want more than the BDs. Between the t-shirt and the flash drive and the coffee mug and the poster and the whatever, I'll have enough "stuff" when all is said and done.

I should have done that, but given my history with the show it's hard to turn down swag. It'll probably just be a BD/DVD set in a tin or something, and I'll have doubles yet again.

I stuck with the BD set because I basically don't need more "stuff" in my life. No matter how cool it is, it'd inevitably sit on a shelf taking up space and collecting dust.

If you preorder Vol. 37 from Shout, it will include a bonus disc with the Hollywood Award preview specials:

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

I'll likely order the bluray of S.11

100 bucks seems like a bargain for 14 eps on bluray plus we wont see it until late next year
I guess, wonder if the charge on order or when ship.

That's the price you pay for the bonus disc. BTW, the Blockbuster Review bonus disc for Vol XXXVI is now SOLD OUT:

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

The Rifftrax codes from Mothra combine to give 15% off an order: SILK and MOTH

The code ZILLA gives you the MP3 riff of the '98 Godzilla for free.

Their current back to school sale 15% off code LEARN is also stackable. I just put in an order for a bunch of "just the jokes" riffs. (The Matrix trilogy, The Room live, The Hunger Games) I may go back and get The Wicker Man as after purchasing all of those riffs I read that that movie is coming to Netflix next month. No way I'm going to buy that DVD just to listen to the Rifftrax version.

Also a lot more riffs are compatible with the app now. Though I notice that some of my past purchases still don't show up, at least it's improving.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

Weird, did they email out the new code? I just bought a riff yesterday with the Mothra codes, it would have been cool to get another 15% off.

Do you know when it expires? I think the Mothra codes are good through Sept. 9.

Weird you didn't receive it. This is the email I got on Friday:

I cut off the screenshot before it got to the asterisk, but the code can't be used towards the MST3K reunion preorder or on any in-app purchases. It doesn't mention a specific expiration date. Just "limited time" there up top.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

It looks like LEARN expires tonight at midnight.

If you use all three on the Deal of the Week, The Bride and The Beast, it's a pretty sweet deal.

Another code, WORK, works through Monday for 15% off. You can combine it with SILK and MOTH for a total of 30% off.

I just posted in the tv forum that the Comet TV channel has added old episodes of MST3K to their Sunday night fall schedule. Tonight they're playing Attack of the Giant Leeches and The Wild World of Batwoman. Many of you will already have these, but MST3K on tv just feels right!
