Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

WWE needs to do a Jericho DVD, he has enough good stuff to fill alot of disc. I would also like to see a Divas DVD that actually has matches and not stupid Bikini crap. I know this is a longshout but even a set of Worst Gimmicks would be cool, just to have matches with most of those on DVD

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

WWE really need the Mid-South/UWF library to do a DiBiase set justice (so they can include classics like the match against Flair after he was attacked by Murdoch). Also a Rise and Fall/Spectacular Legacy of Mid-South would be freakin’ awesome.

I believe there was also talk earlier this year about Jimmy Snuka and Batista sets too.

I don't own the dvd myself, but I'm pretty sure that match is on Giants, Midgets, Heroes and Villains II.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

As much as I love Jericho, I hate when WWE does collections of wresters still competing. They use word like "definitive" or "ultimate" when their career isn't over. Think about someone like UT, Shawn Michaels, HHH, Cena, they've all had classic matches since their sets were released...does that mean WWE is going to release another set within the next ten years? I guess so.

I was also at Best Buy today and they had it out but when i went to the cashier the system wouldn't check out saying "not to sell before July 14th"...bastards!

Cashier was saying if she can override it she would have but the computer wouldn't allow it.

Hmm, that's odd. The system must vary from store to store, because the guy rang mine up with zero problems. Nothing popped up on the screen or anything.

A note I have just from popping the DVD in right now, the standard voiced-over "Don't try this at home" video has been changed to a video of John Cena telling folks about the hazards of the business and not to try it at home.

Haha, I went to just about every Best Buy there is in Manhattan on Sunday. I was looking for a copy of No Way Out '09 that was dented and scratched. I ended up finding a copy in pretty good shape on 44th.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

I absolutely hate shopping in brick and mortar stores anymore...so I wait a few weeks and then buy it off Amazon or Half.com - it saves me money as well. I usually end up only spending $10-13 after tax for PPV releases and $15-18 after tax for non-PPV releases.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

I am guessing that this has already been posted in this thread but figured I would do it anyway (sorry if it is redundant)

It appears there are a number of TNA DVDs on sale for $4.99 at BB. Not sure if you can find them in the store to avoid shipping or not (check the site inventory of course). Almost all show as in stock in my area (most at 1 store).

Here they are:

TNA Greatest Matches - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1896715

Destination X 2008 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1845886

Best of TNA 2007 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1836431

Against All Odds 2008 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1836432

Genesis 2007 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1801179

Hard Justice 2007 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1705590

Best of Christian Cage Instant Classic - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1705589

Slammiversary King of the Mountain 2007 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1652242

TNA The 50 Greatest Moments - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1608866

Sting Return of an Icon - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1572197

Lockdown 2006 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1556060

TNA Cross the Line Box Set (Hard Justice 2008, Victory Road 2008, No Surrender 2008) $6.99 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....p=1&id=1913948

Hope it helps some of you.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

I just thought that I would spread the word, that TNA is working on a new 3 Disc set for AJ Styles. It is said to be released either late 2009 or early 2010. I think that 3 Discs is over doing it a bit, as even Triple H only got 2 discs for his King of Kings release.

Plus AJ has had 2 previous DVDs and the recent had a documentary on his life, so not sure what's left for a 3 disc...my guess is it will be mostly current matches from mid 2007-mid 2009 and maybe a few matches from the Nashville era.

I still haven't picked up Vol. 2 because the damn thing doesn't drop in price in Canada...it's still like $25 around here.

TNA seems to think that every time a year passes that's cause for someone to get a DVD release. Kurt Angle was in TNA TWO years and his DVD is pretty much every ppv match he had from his debut until mid-2008. Samoa Joe's DVD was just about every ppv match he had (it came out a year after he debuted), AJ Styles has had two sets, and Jeff Jarrett's set featured FOUR discs. The fact is, these guys are good wrestlers, but the sets are overkill.

If I see it, I might pick up Hard Justice '07. It was an awful ppv, but for $5, it'd be worth it to get Angle/Joe IV, The Doomsday Chamber of Blood match, and Steiners/3D.

$24.99, which to grab a week early I could accept, since it's only $5 more than what it will be at Walmart on Tuesday. Plus I had a $10 RZ coupon and was already picking up season 4 of Weeds, so I figured why not.

That's actually a very nice match listing. I'd buy that DVD in a second. I love the inclusion of: Y2J/HHH - Last Man Standing, his first world title win over The Rock, the nodq match against Hogan, the "you're fired" match, his return match against Orton, and IC title match against Hardy.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

that would be a pretty sweet match listing for a Jericho set. I would also include his rematch with HBK from July 21, 2003 RAW that was in Los Angeles...really good match and a hidden gem in their rivalry.
