Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

nah the greatest stars of 90s was ok but not great, disc 1 was just highlights that most have seen before, no real insight, plus they could of had better matches imo

curious to see how the chapters are told in wcw, will it be anti-wcw start to finish or maybe give them there due?

goldberg hogan chapter-interesting to see how they present this, jericho said on the monday night wars dvd this was the peak of wcw and said it was a great moment
but the peak of wcw was a year before, this was just a cheap fix and only won the ratings battle that night, this was there money match and they had no buildup at all

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

i like big free matches, but that match could of made millions on ppv instead they give it away just to win 1 night of ratings?
imo hogan knew he had to job to goldberg sooner or later, so why not do it right before a big ppv with rodman, that way all the focus remains on him

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

How can I order a Tagged Classic from Silvervision if they don't even have the option for an American address?

How are you all importing these if they don't ship to the U.S.?

Amazon.co.uk sell the tagged classics and they ship to the US and Canada. But they get the tagged classics later than Silvervision.

Normally about a month after it's released through Silvervision abrg923, you can always pre-order them

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

That WCW dvd looks pretty sweet for the matches. The Midnight Express vs. Southern Boys is amazing for the US Tag Titles!! I have that ppv and it's definitely the best match on that show. The only thing I would have liked to have seen added on this dvd is the match about a month after the first Clash of the Champions that pitted Windham & Luger defending the NWA Tag Titles against Arn & Tully, so I can have a good clear copy of Windham turning on Luger and joining the Horsemen. Actually, that match would have made more sense to be on the Horsemen dvd than the Clash of the Champions match those 2 teams had that made it on the Horsemen dvd.

You can also get them from eBay UK. When proeple recive them from Silvervision, they sell them brand new on eBay the day they receive them, and they can send them to the US.

I order all of my Silvervision Tagged Classics from SendIt.com. They are quick with shipping and are usually cheaper than another other site I have found for them.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

Just picked up the Blockbuster versions of No Way Out 2007, WM 23, Unforgiven 2007 and Summerslam 2007 for about $25 total.

Now all I need is Royal Rumble, Backlash, One Night Stand and Great American Bash.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

These next three months are going to be awesome for WWE DVDs; Tag Teams in 2 weeks, Rise and Fall of WCW next month and Best of SD in Sept.

I hope they confirm a Survivor Series Anthology for this fall...but i doubt it since we would have heard something by now. Don't get why they took so long releasing it, they had a chance in 2007 to release it since 2006 edition would have been the 20th, and this year's would be the 24th edition.

But now i think it will be late next year so they can include the 25th edition which they will probably milk the 25th Anniversary theme like with Wrestlemania this year.

I think you are confused. Next year's Survivor Series (2010) will only be the 24th edition (The first was in 1987). The 25th Survivor Series is in 2011. So If WWE wants that box-set to be a nice round number like 25 it won't be until late 2011/early 2012.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

I really, really hope the rise/fall of wcw lives up to expectations. I'm not trying to upset anyone here but IMO disk 3 is a toaster. What I mean is only 3 matches on it stand out to me. Also why does Vince always skip 1987 NWA??? That was one of the very best red hot NWA sizzling years IMO. What gives why didn't we get the Wargames match from 1987??? Instead we get the real Sting Vs fake Sting Kiddie Wargames? Oh come on that match is horrible! Also wasn't it already put out on DVD??? Terrible just terrible than again it is called rise/fall WCW not NWA. Hopefully Vince and his cronies don't bury the documentary. Also I really hope Triple H is NOT on the WCW documentary. He was nothing but a jobber in WCW and has no business on this DVD. Still like I said I'm not trying to make anyone here mad. I'm just not trilled at all with this match selection. Plus I already have most of these matches on video. So this is just not cutting the mustard at all.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

Too much NWO on that cover for my liking. I would have prefered old school sting instead of new sting but tey did that for Starrcade. I am kinda surprised they have a somewhat current picture of a current TNA star on a DVD cover.

Yeah that nWo cover is just overkill. It doesn't surprise me cause NwO put WCW on the map. Hopefully the documentary doesn't end up sucking.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

you guys do know wcw was at its best from 96-98, why wouldn't they put stuff on there, nwo made wcw plain and simple

im glad they put on the matches on disc 3, rodman was huge back then similiar to mike tyson coming in for wrestlemania, goldberg's best match is on disc 3, the first ever big war between nwo and wcw

i like it, as a fan of wcw those were great times, i think fans are biased, if you grew up during nwa you going to like that more cause it brings back memories, if you grew up in late 90s wcw you will like that

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

If I was in charge of what the cover for the WCW DVD looked like, I would have put The Rise & Fall Of in a circle, with Rise at the top using the old WCW logo (The one used on the real cover) and on top of fall, I would have used the logo used from 1999- 2001. I would have put Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Sting (crow) & Steiner Brothers at the top. The at the bottom, I would have put the nWo logo, Hollywood Hogan, Lex Luger, Booker T & Bret Hart.

My latest wrestling-related acquisitions: picked up a rare original ECW DVD from CeX for £5, and the Hardcore Homecoming boxset for £4.25 from Amazon.

I'm sure they will do a Ricky "The Dragon" Stemaboat set by the end of this year.
