Never cared much for Batista... but one of the last house shows I went to he went against Kane and I swear it was the best match of the night.

I guess its safe to say now that we wont be seeing the survivor series anthology anytime this year, approaching August im sure more would have been said if it was coming out end of year, best we can hope for is mid 2010 im guessing, very frustrating watching my old SS vhs tapes with all the terrible editing from coliseum video.

Looks that way...i could see a late-2010 release (around November). I don't really mind since WWE has (and continues) to release top notch releases this year.

If that's the case then there will likely be 4 Volumes 5 Disc each...Vol. 1 (87-91), Vol. 2 (92-96), Vol. 3 (97-01), Vol. 4 (02-06) and the 5th Volume being 4 discs from 07-10.

Was really looking forward to a Survivor Series anthology...not sure why WWE are taking so long on it...late 2006-early 2007 would have been the perfect time to release it to include the 20 events, and they could have delayed the Royal Rumble Anthology to maybe the holiday season of 2007.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

Definately some great releases this year, just a little unhappy because i would have liked to have completed the big 4 set this year, im also thinking its gonna be a lot more expensive then the summerslam anthology, i think they have missed the boat on this one, should have been released 06/07 for sure, even if it was coming next year its strange not to hear a whole lot about it, the summerslam anthology came out in mid 08 but info was being revealed in 07, must be some sort of issue that we arent aware of.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

Who cares if they don't release the Survivor Series Anthology anytime soon. As long as they take their time and not package it the way they did the SummerSlam Anthology, I'll be happy. Hopefully after that, we'll see a Anthology set for the In Your House pay-per-views? I know they're talking about a best of In Your House for possibly next year but I want the entire pay-per-views instead. Uk is lucky to get the tagged classics even though it's not the best quality.

I think King Of The Ring should be before the In Your Houses.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

seems alright...the documentary looks interesting but too many ppv matches...they should have balanced the the ppv/RAW/SD matches. Instead of having vs. JBL from Summerslam they could added the Bullrope match from SD in Sept. 2005. Also replace the Cyber Sunday match with Taker with the Cage match from SD where Mark Henry interfered and Edge cashed in MitB.

Seems like a pretty good selection...i'm guessing the Rumble match won't be complete and will begin once Batista enters (similar to HHH King of Kings and Hulk Still Rules)

I completely agree. Batista made his wrestling debut during the WWE era, so ppv he ever appeared in is regularly available on DVD. It's kind of silly to put so many ppv matches on the set, especially matches from WrestleMania. I mean, come on, anyone buying a Batista set probably already owns WM 21 and 23.

And the point about the bullrope match and the cage match is on the nose. There was a good opportunity to catch some stuff from TV which showcased his skills. I'm also disappointed to see they didn't include his third title win, against The Great Khali and Rey Mysterio, simply because that ppv sucked and I don't want to buy it.

But I am happy to see his 2nd title win over Booker and the subsequent 3-way match.

I don't know, a mixed bag/disappointment, but I knew it was going to be mostly ppv matches. I may get it if the price is right.

Found GAB at my local Blockbuster on Saturday - god bless having a Blockbuster that no one goes to ever.

And the Batista DVD is good...I think the documentary will be pretty interesting.

im aware of that dvd thank you
but it was released way back in 03 i believe, a 3 disc would be much better and putting ALL of his good matches on would be better than a handfull of them

I don't see the need in a new Brock Lesnar DVD. If anything they could re-release it with an extra disc of matches from Raw (2002) and Smackdown! (2002- 2004).

The Night Of Champions DVD Extra is Josh Matthews Interviewing CM Punk, and Silvervision have released the BACK Cover for the Smackdown DVD.

Although I would also like to see a Big Men in wrestling DVD profiling people like Big John Stud, Andre, Giant Baba and others, WWE still needs to release an Andre DVD.
I thought a while back on this board someone had a listing for an Andre dvd projected for a August 2009 board. I guess that was false. I completely agree. The repackaged Giant dvd is a joke. They need a 3 disc set out where they could just take the matches from the biography and put it out on dvd. BTW the biography was terrible. The author just put closed captioning on all the matches from the 80's and wrote it down. It was the worse WWE biography. And Andre was my hero. Maybe someday I will make a dream Andre dvd, any suggestions?

I'm not sure if all Suncoast have it out early, but I was able to pick up Sacrifice 2009 today.

Slammiversary 2009 - Sept. 01
Victory Road 2009 - Sept. 22

I think WWE should use A&E's Biography on Andre as a starting point and then add from experts and fellow wrestlers who traveled with him in Japan, Europe, US and Puerto Rico as well as people from Hollywood who got to know him like the cast from Princes Bride. Carlito's dad owns the footage of several Andre matches in Puerto Rico against Adbullah the Butcher, so that could be included. If WWE releases an Andre DVD, it would easily be one of the top sellers.
