Wrestling DVD Release List

WWE DVD Release List (pdf)

Repeating the previous rules:

The thread is to have a discussion on all wrestling DVD related topics.

There is another thread, which I have to update, that has the upcoming DVD releases.

For weekly wrestling discussion, you can go to the Sports forum at DVDTalk, where MovieExchange keeps a very nice weekly thread with all the news pertaining to pro wrestling. He even has Pay Per View contest!

Don't post active ebay auctions. Don't talk about bootlegs. Don't threadcrap. And please keep general wrestling discussion on the Sport section of DVDTalk.

Let the talking begin....

If you watched the episodes of RAW that were in the UK, you'll see what i mean. I think we're talking about the same thing though.

That is actually one of many differences between PAL and NTSC. The frame rate is of course, one of them. Remember PAL is 50hz and NTSC is 60hz.

After watching Rebellion 2001, the WWF didn't seem to bother correcting the frame rate. It had that "watching it on a PAL tv" feel.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

So basically, the region 2 dvd will be 25 frames? and thus have that PAL feel to it?

I have the retail version with 7 matches. I thought the 8th match was an easter egg or something but TNA don't include those with their DVDs like WWE.

It seems that TNA shipped out the 7 match version to stores and online and quietly re-distributed it again on their site featuring 8 extra matches. Pretty stupid business decision, but thats TNA for you.
So does that mean if I order the TNA Christian DVD from shoptna.com now I'll get the 8 match version, or is it random whether you get the 7 or 8 match version? That is, are they only shipping out the 8 match version now, or are they shipping out both the 7 match and 8 match versions?

The image of the back of the DVD from ShopTNA says 7 full matches, so not sure now, but before they use to list 8 complete matches. Maybe it was a limited thing.

They released WWF One Night Only on Tagged Classics with the Fab 4 Bio DVD.
So, it is possible that they could release Insurrextion 2001 on Tagged Classics.
But they havn't released Mayhem in Manchester, Capital Carnage, No Mercy, or any of the other Insurrextions & Rebellions yet... so maybe they won't....
Speeking of Tagged Classics, how far are they going to go to? Do you think until Backlash 2002, the last PPV that used the WWF logo?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

Greatest Superstars of the 90s wasn't that great. They cover like 10 superstars and half the interviews they use are from previous DVDs. The matches portion of the DVD are much better then the documentary about them. The documentary portion is about 2 Hours and 20 Mins.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

I want to see tag matches that haven't been done to death on other WWE DVD releases. Also I don't know if this is strictly tag teams or singles that have tagged together.

WWE

Survivor Series elimination tags featuring tag teams (87 and 88)

Any Rockers/Brainbusters matches we haven't seen on DVD yet.

Any Rockers/Hart Foundation matches we haven't seen on DVD yet.

The Harts (Bret & Owen) vs. The Steiners (Rick & Scott)

10/30/94 Shawn Michaels/Diesel vs. Razor Ramon/123 Kid

5/21/01 Chris Benoit/Chris Jericho vs. Steve Austin/Triple H

10/20/02 Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit vs. Edge/Rey Mysterio

2/6/03 Eddy Guerrero/Chavo Guerrero vs. Shelton Benjamin/Charlie Haas

5/22/03 Eddy Guerrero/Tajiri vs. Shelton Benjamin/Charlie Haas
5/29/03 Eddy Guerrero/Tajiri vs. Shelton Benjamin/Charlie Haas
7/3/03 Shelton Benjamin/Charlie Haas vs. Eddy Guerrero/Tajiri

7/27/03 Shelton Benjamin/Charlie Haas vs. Rey Mysterio/Billy Kidman

NWA/WCW

12/16/90 Doom vs. Arn Anderson/Barry Windham (Street Fight)

5/19/91 Rick Steiner/Scott Steiner vs. Sting/Lex Luger

11/17/91 Ricky Steamboat/Dustin Rhodes vs. Arn Anderson/Larry Zbyszko

1/13/93 Ricky Steamboat/Shane Douglas vs. Brian Pillman/Steve Austin

3/27/93 Ricky Steamboat/Shane Douglas vs. Brian Pillman/Steve Austin

11/13/93 Ric Flair/Arn Anderson vs. Vader/Steve Austin

Doesn't seem like stores have it out early, stores are closed today anyways.

But it seems that HMV have them in-stock according to their website, but won't put it out til the 14th.
