Re: The wrestler= 4/21/09
Horrendously amateur and shitty cover art is now up:

I can't believe how much Fox dropped the ball on this release. Just a complete disaster. I will not support this release after how disgusted I am at the treatment is is receiving.

I liked the poster better, but I dig the DVD artwork as well... I'll probably skip the Blu-ray though... I would have loved to seen complete matches or maybe a Necrobutcher commentary track.

I'm surprised at how negative the reaction is to this artwork. It looks similar to the poster, and it's not blatantly Photoshopped. I think it looks fine.

Yeah, but good artwork is good artwork. As a piece of artwork I have no problem with it in and of itself, it doesn't become crappy just because the poster was better. Given the number of truly terrible PhotoShop jobs out there that are just big heads and horrible fonts and messy and awful, this is fine.

I actually agree with you to an extent. As much as my post made me seem up in arms over it, at the end of the day I really don't mind this. It really isn't terrible artwork at all, but I guess I just really liked the original and thought it represented the movie a lot better.

Re: The wrestler= 4/21/09
apparently, the "a Within the Ring" featurette is the same making of documentary found on the UK disc.it's a 40 min documentary.
US R1:
a Within the Ring featurette
The Wrestler Music Video which is written and performed by Bruce Springsteen
shit artwork
UK R2:
a Within the Ring featurette
interview with Micky Rourke (15 min)
OK artwork
i have to know what the HMV exclusive is all about then i'll decide.

sweet, now if only they could have maybe gotten Darron and Mickey to sit down for a commentary, or maybe Mickey's classic speech at the Indie Spirit Awards.
