Will there be a Sesame Street Old School Vol 3?

Hey,

I wonder if a 3rd Sesame Street Volume (like 1980-1985 maybe?) will be released if the 2nd Volume sold well? Does anyone know?
I've seen the Old School sets are actually being released in the UK as well - I don't have Vol. 2 yet. The $ is so weak right now I was thinking maybe of picking up the UK set of Vol. 2 (out in March), I just hope its the same as the R1.
Thanks

Isn't the $ about the strongest it has been in a long time against the Pound?

Its about $1.42 = £1 now, maybe I got my wording mixed up One currency is weak against the other anyway I guess.
It used to be almost $2 (or more) to the £ at one point.

I sure hope they release another set....I really liked the first two...
If they keep the same pattern of having the first episode of each season, then I really hope the next set includes the landmark "death of Mr Hooper" episode on it as an extra, or at least some of the segments of that episode....

I am to hoping for an old school vol.3, the Sesame street of the 1980's deserves some love too. But the folks over at muppetcentral.com have reported since this is the 40th aniversery of SS they are doing a 2-disc set for it that is coming out later this year. Maybe after that comes out we will see more old school sets.

Agreed ... that whole episode is a must-have.

They need to put out ALL the individual segments, maybe organized by decade. When they do complete shows too many segments get repeated while others get left out; they're always too lazy to chapter every segment too.

I want that number-counting thing (the one that ends with the guy falling down the stairs) with at least a higher number so the song and counting with the flying numbers lasts longer- the ones on the discs out now all use 2!

Are you sure? I could swear that one of them goes to 10. (because you have that weird clip of the kid saying "10 Bells" where it is dubbed really bad)

Yeah, this one:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1wxHeWaXa_I&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1wxHeWaXa_I&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Is that not what you are talking about?

Re: Will there be a Sesame Street Old School Vol 3?

I might get the 40th Anniversary set, depends what's on it I remember SS most from the 1980's/very early 90's as thats when I was growing up
I know, by 1992 I was way too old for SS
I hope one set has the Sesame Street News clip with The Pied Piper, and The Wonderful World of T Shirts
Loved Grover The Waiter too
Did they make any more Christmas Specials for SS besides "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street" and "Elmo Saves Christmas"?
Christmas Eve on Sesame Street is from 1978 but I'm sure I remember it from when I was little. I bought the VHS some years ago.

One of the best things about the new school I have discovered is a segment called MR.NOODLE, one of the funniest things on tv. too bad the guy that played him passed away.Michael Jeter.

Re: Will there be a Sesame Street Old School Vol 3?

Are the R2 Old School sets the same (content wise) as the R1? If they are I'll get the R2 as its cheaper now.
Sorry for bumping the thread

Was there something mentioned here about a 40th Anniversary set coming later this year?

Re: Will there be a Sesame Street Old School Vol 3?

Sesame Street's 40th Anniversary DVD to Release in November with Viewer Input

"But in November of this year, Sesame Workshop will be
releasing a new two-disc set that puts the entire series in perspective as it celebrates an unprecedented 40 years on PBS. Reportedly, the first disc will be devoted to those of us who grew up with it in the first twenty years. Then the second disc will be devoted to...well, probably 95% Elmo."

I really wish they'd just continue the Old School series with Volume 3...

I hope we will see more old school stuff after this, maybe sometime next year Sesame workshop can get back to work on an old school 80s set.

Me too, it's not like there is a shortage of Elmo discs out there.

Re: Will there be a Sesame Street Old School Vol 3?

Thanks
I ordered the UK set of Old School Volume 2, it seems to be about the same as the US set as far as I can make out (feature/content wise). I hope nothing is cut.
I bought that as the UK set was really a lot cheaper for me
Maybe Old School Volume 3 will come next year?
"95% Elmo" is just an assumption, I would hope those who vote would be old enough to bypass him. I didnt actually mind Elmo when I was growing up but I couldn't stand Elmo's World etc.

Re: Will there be a Sesame Street Old School Vol 3?

I hope there's another Old School set soon, I hope it has "Some Enchanted Lunchtime" and "(The Sign It Says) Don't Walk" which are actually really touching, SEL is a lovely parody of Some Enchanted Evening (I used to think that was the actual tune and its even better than the real SEE!) and it's sad because when I was young I couldnt make friends easily
