House, M.D. - Season One Anamorphic 2/10/09

I almost posted this in the TV sub-forum, and if the moderators believe it should go there, then by all means, move it. Anyway, TV Shows on DVD are reporting that on 10 February, Universal will re-issue House, M.D. - Season One in its proper, anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio. Otherwise, they're reporting the sets will be identical from package art to features. They do state, however, that this set will be six discs, rather than the three double-sided discs of the first release, and they speculate that the release may be in thinpacks rather than the double-layered foldout package of past House releases.

Figures. Another Universal one I'll have to rebuy to get non-defected single sided DVDs.
I've already replaced my Knight Rider & The Munsters sets.

Ugh, I bought Season 1 for $13 but I still don't feel like rebuying just for Anamorphic Widescreen. If I could find it for $13 again then maybe.

Wow, how annoying.

Wish they got it right the first time. Bought Season 1 during one of the Black Friday deals, but I won't be double-dipping on this one.

Goodness gracious. If they go thinkpacks, I'm not buying. I too got mine for $13 on Black Friday. I freaking hate the double-sided discs though so I would consider a double dip if they kept the fold out. Doesn't sound like it though. And in which case I won't be buying.

House on BD though....I'd buy that.

Since I got Season 1 for $13, this won't be too bad of an upgrade. Still, it would be nice if Universal offered some sort of upgrade rebate.

I will wait until I can get this set cheap though.

Somehow I knew this would happen. I doubt I'll get my toes wet given that USA HD has has reruns in hd, I can guess a bluray version is in House's future.

Universal releases their shows in thinpaks in Canada only. They used to here in the States, but they changed to that layered packaging here (bleh, I prefer thinpak).
