Does anyone know when FANBOYS is being released on DVD??

I have done some exhaustive Google searches and cannot seem to get a firm street date for the DVD release of FANBOYS. My most trusted source for release dates (Comingsoon.net) has it being released on DECEMBER 23rd. DVDPlanet.com has it as being released last month on NOVEMBER 18th. Comingsoon.net & DVDPlanet has it being released in BOTH SD-DVD and BLU-RAY; Full Frame unfortunately but I have to see this movie already! If anyone has info, please post it up. Those shyster Weinsteins have delayed the theatrical release until Feb 9 '09.

Yeah, theatrical release has been pushed back 1000 times, most recently its Thanksgiving release was now moved to Feb 2009... we'll see if that one sticks.

as for DVD, figure 4 months or so after its theatrical release, whenever that is.

yeah its sad i first saw the trailer for this back in fall of 07 on the clerks 2 dvd. And i still wanna see it (then again,Kristen Bell in the Princess Leia bikini=

Yea, I do not understand why they are having such a hard time releasing this... Everyone I know that has seen the trailer thinks it looks hysterical. That Clerks 2 DVD came out sooo long ago!

the whole issue with releasing it (from what i read) is

the Weinsteins didn't like the cancer subplot, so they made them reshoot scene's and recut the movie removing it all together, then after fan protest and protest from the director, the version coming out in theaters, is the 'cancer edit'.

It's only playing in major cities, and the director said that it's not certain it will go wider. The better it does, the wider it will go.

I'm betting this will be coming to DVD soon, a few months or so

The film is being released by The Weinstein Company's THIRD RAIL releasing. This is the company set up for films that they are contractually obligated to release theatrically, but do not believe will do well at the box office. Essentially, by releasing through THIRD RAIL rather than TWC, they are dumping the film (they bragged about how effective it was last year with such releases as THE PROMOTION).

It is doubtful you will see this play near you if it isn't opening this week.

For all the hype the non-release of this film has gotten over the past year, the re-edits, the internet campaigns, you would think that they could open it wider. But the rumors of their financial problems might be true, and they can't afford to risk a wider opening.

Ok, videoeta.com is saying May of this year for the DVD release. Which is the only way most of us are going to get to see it.

Saw it and loved it. You don't need to be a Star Wars geek to "get it" as long as you understand the culture.

Kristen Bell - As someone who doesn't find skinny blondes very attractive, her appearances on Craig Fergusen have sold me on her. What a cool chick. The above picture didn't hurt either (as a brunette).

And as for her jumping the shark...this movie was filmed a long time ago...most likely before FSM.

Funny, I saw a poster for in when I was at the theater to see Taken, then I checked online and it said it was out. So why would my theater have a poster for a movie there not going to show?
