Errol Morris' Standard Operating Procedure: 10/14/08

From dvdtimes.co.uk:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Standard Operating Procedure on 14th October 2008 priced at $28.96 SRP. In this documentary Errol Morris examines the incidents of abuse and torture of suspected terrorists at the hands of U.S. forces at the Abu Ghraib prison.

Features include:

* 2.40:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
* English, French and Portuguese DD5.1 Surround
* English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Thai subtitles
* Deleted Scenes

Extras listed for the Blu-ray release but not yet confirmed for the DVD include:

* Premiere Q&A with Director Errol Morris
* Berlin Film Festival Press Conference
* Diplomacy in the Age of Terror: The Impact of Diminished Rule of Law on International Relations
* Additional Footage
Hopefully the Diplomacy doc will be substantial, but either way this is positively deluxe by Morris standards.

Apparently none of the Blu-ray extras will be on the SD edition. From dvdactive:
The only extra material will be deleted scenes

I'm a big fan of Errol Morris, so I'll probably be buying this one even though I haven't seen it yet. Doesn't bother me too much about the extras because I will buy this on BD, but I understand others' frustrations.

DVDBeaver on the Blu-ray. Somewhat surprisingly, as most of his releases have been bare bones or close to it, there is a commentary from Morris included.
