A new addition to this year's challenge, as suggested by bluelitespecial is a THREE Wild Card Option. This is here to include movies you might watch as a tradition during the holidays. My family used to watch Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory every Thanksgiving. So ANY movie is allowed, up to THREE. Thanks bluelitespecial
This is a great idea. I used to watch the original Star Wars trilogy over Christmas break every year. There should be a stipulation, though, that you have to write about the tradition (at least a sentence or so) in your list thread. Not that it wouldn't count if one didn't, but it would be cool to get a little insight into peoples traditions.

Thank you so much, I like this idea as there are certain movies that I love to watch during the holiday season as well and is part of my own holiday tradition. The whole Lord of the Rings Trilogy will be added to my list. They were a part of my christmas break for three years in college, and thats why they are important to me.

The LOTR movies were a bg part of my Christmas break in college as well. We so looked forward to the next installment after each, and we'd see them in theaters again and again.

We always have it on in the background on Christmas Eve at my mom's. Occasionally, everybody will become engrossed in the movie but overall it is just on for ambiance and tradition.

Actually, my cousin's husband had never seen it before. One year, on Christmas Eve, he watched the whole thing and loved it. My cousin was pregnant at the time, and when their baby was born, they named her Susan. But they call her Zuzu for short.

Now "A Christmas Story" is another creature altogether. Aside from when "It's A Wonderful Life" is on TV, we have this on all day long in our house. Oddly enough, we never get sick of it.

Most excellent. We used to watch "Wizard of Oz" every Thanksgiving. Maybe we'll start that tradition up again.

We also used to go to a movie on Christmas Day after dinner. We haven't in several years (since before my kids were born), but who knows when we might start this one up again.

I'm in on this one...although it looks like I really need to read the rules a few times.

EDIT - I think I understand how this works...but if anyone wants to give me the condensed version, please do.

Watch anything having to do with Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's between November 24, 2008 and January 1, 2009. it doesn't even have to be about those holidays. It could just take place during the holiday season

You can also watch 3 movies that have absolutely nothing to do with any of the holidays and it doesn't have to take place during that time either. Just three random movies. This is here to include movies you might watch as a tradition during the holidays.

Any questions.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember that it begins the 24th of November, NOT the 17th of November!! I'm sorry I never got around to getting a mod to change the title of the thread, I'm not really sure how to contact a mod about that.

On another note, I picked up 2 Christmas related movies today from Big Lots: A Christmas Carol (animated, 2001) for $3 and Felix the Cat Saves Christmas for $2, both of which I've never seen.

I think the best way is just hit the "report post" icon (the red triangle with an exclamation point in it.) Or you can post a message in the feedback forum. Or you could PM one of the mods for this particular forum.

If I may make a suggestion, regardless, is don't make the list thread until the middle of next week or something, that will cut down on the confusion.

Davey! You've been here 4+ years and have never used the "report post" button, fixed a thread title, reported a spammer, etc etc? Shame shame.

I'll do it right now for you.

Also, coincidentally, I just bought the same two titles at Big Lots as well (and the Woody Allen box set for $16).

Well, none of us have to do it. But we can all do it to help out the forum.

Of course, the mods are ignoring me lately.....

Has this always been there or are the mods sick of us "bugging them" and requesting things like thread title changes through the "Report Post" button?

It's always been there, but the mods have told us numerous times that it is the best way to report thread titles change requests as well.

It's the Artisan Entertainment release. It says it's digitally remastered and it has a "making of" documentary and a tribute to Frank Capra.

No real difference between the two if I recall, the 2nd disc is just the colorized version.

As much as I hate colorized versions of movies, I'd like to see it just once to see how it looks.
