Tremendously excited for this - looks like the perfect companion piece to the Unseen Cinema set, which was a real revelation. I only have volume one in this series, but it had some classic pioneering work. It's unfortunate that this is only 2 discs, unlike the previous sets of 4, but wonderful news nevertheless.
We are delighted to announce that Treasures IV: American Avant-Garde Film, 1947-1986, the latest in the NFPF's Treasures DVD series, will be available on March 3, 2009. The two-disc set presents 26 avant-garde films never before available on quality video in North America and features new music by John Zorn and a 70-page book of program notes introduced by Martin Scorsese. Retail price: $44.99, 312 minutes.

Avant-garde is less appealing to me than the (mostly) silent work that they've previously featured... but I've loved the previous 3 sets, so this is a no-brainer. Price is reasonable too.
(And I'm also a fan of the Unseen Cinema set... you're right, this will fit in nicely.)
Thanks for the news!

DVD Beaver on the set. Looks fantastic, and the inclusion of a 72-page book(let?) is a nice touch.
