Huh, interesting that Universal is putting the original horror issues out of print. In many ways, those initial discs are still preferable to the subsequent offerings. I wonder if they have something planned?

^Yes. It's called the "Let's see if we can get 'em to buy these a 4th (5th, 6th, etc.) time with a new and improved yet still inferior transfer but we have to get those better originals OOP first" plan.
Or considering the new mindset of "if it's not WS no one will purchase it" on some classic OAR/4x3 product they'll be creating a "new improved WS" version for the BR/HD "Joe 6-pack" crowd.

The Keep was never released on DVD- the best release it had was a letterboxed laserdisc in the 90s. Home Media Magazine just had an article on Paramount's declining sales revenue- I wanted to yell back "Well of course you fucks- you put tons of stuff out of print then don't even issue stuff we want to buy!" How much money are they getting from Netflix anyways- they have a bunch of their movies that either haven't been issued on DVD ever or are out of print.

It's sort of hit and miss. The new Wolfman is a nice improvement, however Dracula, for example, is preferred by some over the later issues. Then of course the Legacy versions were on the dreaded DVD-18s so that adds to the chaos.

Well, maybe their deletion means they'll see the light of day on Blu soon. I'd buy them again for high-def versions. I'm still dumbfounded they didn't include the original Wolfman on the new version. That would have sold some extra copies.
