Not my local library, but a library in my area charges $1 for all their DVD releases.

VH-1 is airing the "VH1's 20 Greatest Oscar Moments" on Thursday (Feb 14th) at 9:00 EST.

The preview looked like it was heavily weighted towards the last 10-20 years, but who knows?

And if you miss it, I'm sure it will be on 5 times a day until the Academy Awards ceremony.

Check your local AMC theatre as they are running a special pass for all 5 Best Picture nominees, which will come to my area on February 23rd (I assume the same for all AMC theatres).

The pass is $30 and all-you-can-eat popcorn (I didn't see soda or bottled water mentioned). From the listings, the times run from 11:00 AM until midnight.

I'm in!

Man, that's awesome! Unfortunately for me, 2/23 is an extremely busy day for me so I'll have to pass. I hope it is successful though so I can partake next year.

I purchased my tickets a few weeks ago! Sounds like a lot of fun.

Re: The 2nd Annual Academy Award Movie Challenge (1/24-2/24)

So now that the Holiday challenge is done, I was wondering if there was going to be an Oscar challenge this year.

Re: The 2nd Annual Academy Award Movie Challenge (1/24-2/24)

I hope so; half the DVDs on my unwatched list are movies I've been saving for the Oscar challenge.

I'm cutting back though; I watched WAY too much last year. I'll be lucky if I hit 100 this year.

Re: The 2nd Annual Academy Award Movie Challenge (1/24-2/24)

Hopefully this year it will be the month of February, which matches up with TCM, rather than the awkward one month ending on the Oscars telecast.
