Mork and Mindy in 3-D (4th Season DVD???)

It's not widely known, but much of the episode "Gotta Run Part 2" from the final season (the series' second to last show) was shot in 3-D with an eye towards a major promotion by ABC. (This would have been using the anaglyph red/blue format.) It never aired in 3-D, as the series was cancelled and ABC apparently decided not to bother.

The 3-D concept is fairly obvious when watching the flat version of the show, as there are lots of gimmickly shots included. There are photos of the 3-D cameras on the set at www.d3.com/prodalbum.html for those interested.

It would be a shame if Paramount didn't dig up these elements and restore the anaglyph segement (as originally intended) for the upcoming DVD release. A couple of pairs of simple anaglyph glasses could easily be included in the package (ala the "Medium" set) and they could always include the flat version as well. I'll bet the guy at D3 could help them out if they need more information. The 3-D segment would surely add some interest to the release and probably generate some extra sales.

I'd be shocked if Paramount put forth that much effort.

Paramount really doesn't put much effort into things like DVD releases.

They acted like they were going to do a bunch of stuff for the Friday the 13th box set but ended up only putting out the R rated versions instead of uncut stuff which exists.

They could have made a ton of cash off the Full Moon stuff they just sat on while the limited DVDs that did get out, like the Puppet Master box set, went for outrageous prices on eBay.

I seem to recall people complaining about some of the Star Trek sets but don't remember what that was about.

Would be interesting to see, even though my recent viewing of Spy Kids 3-D more than confirmed my belief that red/blue 3-D is just painful to watch.
