Any stats updates on the horizon?

Finishing up October now. It'll all be done by tomorrow for sure. You can murder me if I don't.

Numes doesn't get to murder me now

I got lazy. I had everything done for last month a long time ago except for figuring out what the top movies bought and watched were. I have a script that orders it but I still have to do some editing of the lists which is where I stopped before October started.

I added a couple more things to the stats: Total Participants, Total To Watch, Total Watched, Total Bought.

7 people bought Planet Terror but only 6 watched it, yeah, that was me.

9 people bought Transformers but only 2 watched it.

I figure when January rolls around I'll show how the year went.

If anyone has any ideas for stats or other things they want to see, let me know.

I started doing my movie database over since it's over a year out of date and I'd like to keep better track of stuff like prices, where I bought stuff, etc. I just finished with movie number 61. Only about 6000 to go.

I'm saving tapes for last since the software I use stopped using allmovie for data and they had good data for vhs releases compared to imdb. But at this point, that's the least of my worries.

Damn. I was just browsing my collection and found 6 more sealed discs. I was getting in reach of actually finishing my pile by the end of the year. Those six may be pushing it.

I'm "only" at about 1200+ titles, but (fortunately) I have used DVDProfiler pretty much since the beginning. Any time I buy something, it goes in the database. Anyways, I do know that DVDProfiler supports an external barcode scanner. You would still have to enter the purchase info, but that may save you some time??

One nice thing is if you made a big purchase from one place on one day, it will keep the purchase place for each entry, and if you change your date on your PC temporarily, it will default to the day your PC is on. Then you only have to put in the price and can fly through entering them in (especially with a barcode scanner).

Thanks for the info. Right now I use Movie Collector and it also fills in a lot of the data for me.

I used to keep everything up to date but then I just stopped doing it. Guess this is a good lesson on why I shouldn't do that again.

Jesus I'm glad I don't do drugs. I splurged like hell this month and blew my entire budget. Having spent over 2500 on dvds this year is a way for em to know I have a problem and I need to fix it. On the other hand I *only* spent 1500 or so on games and that included buying a wii and ps3 :/

So hopefully I will end these addictions soon as it's a lot of money gone. But I must admit this is the first year in a long time that my wish list has remained this small. It's possible that it might be entirely caught up by the end of next year :/

Of course then I go and buy something like Arresting Development season 3 when I don't own the first 2 seasons (I did view the first disc of season 1 and loved it). However this means the set must sit here until I have the others :/

I bought Leave It To Beaver season 2 at Target for under $10. I don't own the first season and I refuse to pay regular price for it since season 2 was so cheap. This was a couple years ago and I'm still waiting.

darn HBO 50% off sale at BB this weekend. going to move up the unwatched count.

moving also didn't help me battle the increasing unwatched pile.

Hey Mister peepers,

Where are you getting these goosebump dvds?

I'm actually thinking of getting some stuff from a seller. Mainly Boy Meets World seasons 4 and up and the final 3 seasons of Everwood. As I don't see either ever finishing up on dvd but if they do happen to get released at some point I'd buy them.

Making them myself. They were on Cartoon Network during October so I recorded them with my HD Tivo, transferred to the computer, edited out the commercials and burned them.

If they come out on DVD I'll replace them like I have been doing but I'd be surprised if any more come out. I'm still surprised 3 of them came out last September.
