Re: The Official MMA DVD Discussion Thread (UFC/Pride & Other)

Anyone wanna tackle a "master list" that we can keep as a sticky? You can buy the non-legacy sets of Pride DVDs like I did, takes up way more room but I had to get them the day they came out. I'm actually quite proud of my collection, maybe I'll take a picture and post it. Anyone have a cool collection to show off?

Re: The Official MMA DVD Discussion Thread (UFC/Pride & Other)

I would also love it if someone could post some good shots of the UFC Ultimate DVD box set. Unfortunately, I can only find it available in one place and I am interested in seeing what type of box the item comes in before making a purchase of $100 or more. Many of the wrestling box sets I have are terrible in terms of the thin packaging and look like crap and I want to see if this one looks the same...

Thanks again everyone for replying. I am enjoying this forum!

I did that too on some of the early PRIDE events. The Legacy sets look really nice and can't wait to get them.

If I recall correctly, It's a multipack digipack. Similar to the Superman set or The Royal Rumble volumes

You are correct. There is a picture of it on EBAY I saw that showed the case. I is a outer box then a digipack set inside.

the dvdtalk review noted that the picture quality was not that great and didn't look much better then a standard dvd upconversion.

Hey Everyone,

Have any of you ordered from Sherdog before? If so, I am wondering how your experience was, etc.

Cheers

I have & I have to say that it was not a pleasant experience. My order was backordered and it took their customer service 8 days to respond to an email and inform me of it. I'd stick with Best Buy or Amazon if I were you. Just IMO.

Yeah, MMA isn't really something I need in Blu-Ray. I guess its cause I usually take them around to watch at friends houses and not everyone has a player yet.

Re: The Official MMA DVD Discussion Thread (UFC/Pride & Other)

That is unfortunate as I just placed the order for an item I cannot locate anyplace else. I left messages and emails prior to it but never got a reply. It is possible it is because they're a small outfit and this isn't a full time thing? Not sure. Anyway, I'll let you all know how it turns out.

I ordered a pre-zuffa UFC from them that was nowhere else on the web, it took 2 weeks to get here but other then that it was a good transaction (packing, price, condition, ect.)

Re: The Official MMA DVD Discussion Thread (UFC/Pride & Other)

I purchased UFC Classics 2, 4, 7 & 8 at Liquidation World new and sealed for $3.99 each. Not sure if they carry other UFC titles (this is all they had at the one I visited) but I couldn't say no to those prices. The HMV, Best Buy, Future Shop, Walmart, etc. stores here in Canada don't usually have too many UFC dvd's much under the $20 mark. Is that typical, with the exception of Ebay of course?

That is an amazing price for UFC 7 & 8. The cheapest, even on EBAY, is around 13 or so with shipping. Even for 2 and 4, that is still a great price as the cheapest I've seen them is 8-10 shipped. Good find and hope you enjoy them.

I would have loved to seen that at the one I went to in Springfield, IL last month. Best thing they had was one of the Gold Diggers movies.

I have a random question. Does anyone know what the Easter Eggs on the Pride Bushido 3 are? I tried the directional buttons and nothing happened.

Hello - in a recent forum post you mentioned getting a UFC ppv dvd with a shirt in it. Do you know if that is exclusive to Best Buy or if all come with a shirt? And, is it just in a DVD case or does it have a cardboard sleeve over the case or anything in particular? I try finding photos online before asking but never can pull up anything it seems...
I figured I'd answer your question on the forum....

It was exclusive to Best buy and didn't come in a cardboard sleeve w/ the shirt inside. It was more of a clear holder that was shrink wrapped together.

Re: The Official MMA DVD Discussion Thread (UFC/Pride & Other)

Awesome. Thank you very much for responding Shacmasta. I know a lot of my inquiries are common to most of you on here but I thank you all for getting me up to speed.

Are there any more North American UFC dvd releases that were exclusives?

Thanks!

Re: The Official MMA DVD Discussion Thread (UFC/Pride & Other)

Hi there,

Shacmasta you may know the answer to this (and if anyone else does your comments are certainly welcomed!) - are the UFC 39-46 dvds quite difficult to track down? I see tons of the PAL versions (or whatever they're called) but not so much with Region 1. I am interested to know what UFC DVDs are practically impossible to find...

Cheers

39 thru 42 are difficult because they were only sold thru UFC itself. Up until just recently you could've picked up UFC 39 thru 42 at UFC.COM, It looks like only UFC 42 is currently available at UFC.COM. 43 thru 46 are much easier to find because they had a nationwide distribution deal. You can still find them as 2 packs (43/44 & 45/46) on amazon.

The best bet for UFC 39 thru 42 are to look at web sites that sell training equipment. For example Combatsports.com use to sell early ufc's but they sold out alot of their stock back when they had a huge DVD blowout. And of course E-bay.
