Thanks. That Rumble on the rock set is $9.49 as well! Thats absolutely sick for the number of fights you get on that set.

Sweet. Which now leaves us with just Pride 31 to be released. Then they will probably concentrate on The Bushido events. 13 is set for release in august and then we will need 12, 11 and 10 for that to be complete.

And hopefully they bless us with the 2006 absolute grand prix which consists of Total Elimination Absolute, Critical Countdown Absolute and Final Conflict Absolute. A nice 6 disc set by the end of the year would be real nice.

As far as R1 releases of PRIDE GPs, I absolutely loved the double disc releases of each show they did with the 2004 and 2005 GPs.

The 2003 GP set was a nice idea, but I loathe double-sided discs with a passion....same reason I disliked the earlier PRIDE "Legacy" sets. I just feel that double-sided DVDs are a bit outdated and a cheap way to save on production costs...

I doubt the upcoming OWGP if released will get a good treatment though, the R1 Shockwave DVDs were always 2-disc until the 2006 one was released with ZUFFA all over the thing (and 1 disc)....sucks

^I'm watching GP 2003 right now and mine isn't double-sided unless I'm confused about something?

I've finally decided to open Pandora's Box and have started to buy MMA DVDs. So far, no regrets! I'm enjoying Pride GP 2003 right now (Cro Cop kick!). I'm also pretty impressed with a few of the newer 16x9 UFC releases. I guess I kind of have a goal before I go to UFC 88 - to obtain as many fights as I can with said fighters and sort of throw a party where we watch their previous fights. It should be a good way to get really psyched up for the event. Anyway, if I find any good deals in my searching I'll be sure to post. Also, if anyone is interested in selling some of their MMA DVDs, let me know!

Best buy is having an in-store sale on Bushido Events 1 thru 9. There only 4.99, I recommend Bushido 9.

Picked up some soon to be released titles...

UFC 83 is scheduled for a july 29th release date. It will be released the same way UFC 76: Knockout was w/ 2 Discs, The 2nd Disc being the Extra's like the Weigh-in's, Pre and Post Conferences, Etc. Something I wish they did for all their releases.

Elite XC: Street Certified is scheduled for a july 22nd Release and will continue to be 2 discs like the past 3 releases, but this one will not included the 2 superstar trading cards, instead you get a kimbo sticker.

As for the Deathmatch box set, That's set for a July 22nd Release and will include Volume 2: American Ultraviolence, Volume 5: Double Death Tag Team and Volume 6: West Coast Warfare. If anyone cared to know.

I was able to pick up Street Certified at Best Buy the other day. I was also excited to see a best of Fight Nights DVD coming soon as well. I have been saying for awhile (mainly on Sherdog) that they need to release the UFN's with the prelims and all included. Hopefully this disc sells well enough for them to do that.

A great deal is the 2 disc Rumble On The Rock set, as it's only $6.63 at DeepDiscount.com. The set is over 10 hours and features 44 fights on 5 different shows. I just got it in the mail today, so I've only had a chance to watch the first show...but it features lots of names fighters such as BJ Penn, Gomi, Gilbert Melendez, Paul Buentello, Kendall Grove, Rodrigo & Royler Gracie, Wes Sims, Kimo and "Tank" Abbott. I thought some who are trying to start their collection might want to add these shows too.

It is a great set. The fights are good and there are some classic fights. My only gripe is that it was a pretty low budget production at the time so some classic fights are partially marred by bad quality (mainly camerawork and audiowise) but definitely don't let that stop anyone from getting it. You cannot beat the price for the quality of the fights themselves. It also has the 1st fight between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami which is likely the next UFC MW title fight.

Thanks for the heads up on PRIDE stuff being $5 at Best Buy - I'll probably pick at least a couple of DVDs up this weekend.

Did you ever go to any of the Rumble on the Rock shows? They were done on the island.

I just started the second disc of Rumble On The Rock today. I was happy to finally hear the late announcer Ryan Bennett call the action having heard so much about him when he died in that car accident a few years ago. Being a pro wrestling fan I caught former WWE/WCW wrestler Sean O'Hare and Tom Howard who wrestled in UPW and Mexico. Great match with Royler Gracie and Kazuyuki Miyata (who wrestled for Japan in the Olympics). The main event was BJ Penn and Rodrigo Gracie...the worst thing about this was the camera shooting 2 fights in the crowd while Penn and Gracie were working. All in all I'm really impressed by the set so far....lots of great action.

I wish that Affliction inks a deal with Scanovo to release a Steelbook Packaging MMA DVD (especially their inaugural Affliction Banned Event).

Looks like this is the only steelbook MMA released in DVD

I would love a HD Dream release, though any release would be better than none.
