This morning I got an advance look at the first season package of Gunsmoke, and on the back it states "Some episodes may be edited from their original network versions." Has anyone heard anything about this? What kind of edits and how extensive?

It's possible they may be syndicated versions, but still uncut. The first six seasons when syndicated had the title changed to "Marshall Matt Dillon" so maybe the title is only thing altered. I'd give them slack on this since these episodes haven't aired with the original title in 52 years. Could be pretty hard to find an original broadcast print.

Hope these are uncut. I can deal with a minor change like title, but if 10 minutes is cut out of every show I will not buy the set. I've already passed on many season sets for reasons like this.
