Oh, wow. That scene with Bud is amazing. Madsen is great in all of his scenes, but that one in particular really defines the character.

I don't know what to tell you. I'm glad you're not a film editor.

Well since this thread is on the front page again, Kill Bill is apparently coming to Blu-ray in 2009. Probably means nothing in relation to the cut we've been waiting for though.

Like I said, I’m willing to give Kill Bill 2 and Reservoir Dogs a second chance. Regarding that scene, I actually don’t remember what was going on it in. As I said before, I haven’t seen the film since it was in theaters in ’04 so I really don’t remember it that well. I just remember that I (as well as my brother and uncle, who saw it with me) did not really care for it. Of course that was four years ago and I’m sure that if I watch it a second time now, my opinion will probably change (this happened before with Kubrick’s movies).

Jeebus, just bring it out already. It's interesting that Uma was even commenting on it, so there must be something really happening now. But who knows with Tarantino... that guy jumps projects like a kid with ADHD.

Just bring it out on Blu-Ray please.

This is the kind of thing Blu-Ray was made for.

As well as the theatrical cut of Grindhouse, but that's another story...

Germany is getting Death Proof/Planet Terror on BD sometime this summer.

However, I'll just continue to enjoy my Japanese Kill Bill/Grindhouse releases.

I'm tired of waiting for these people to get their shit togeter.

Yeah, the haze-filter along with the nicks and scratches added to the film elements really pop in 1080p!

starz had the whole thing in hd, and it looked AMAZING, the added dirt and effects looked more convincing in hd.

I didn't actually see Grindhouse in HD on Starz, but I can imagine you're completely right. One of the best things about HD is that it transfers film prints so well that they actually retain the "film look". This is why I love older grainy movies on Bluray. On DVD the films look good, but they look processed and the grain looks unnatural. On Bluray these same films pop with life because they actually look a whole lot more like film. The video appears less digitally compressed, and the grain feels totally natural and lifelike. So even the Grindhouse doesn't actually have the best picture quality the HD transfers must look fantastic.

the colors (especially during Planet Terror) were outstanding, and every scratch and piece of dirt looked real. it makes no sense why they have no plans to release it on BD.

actually I thought the colours on Tarantino's film in HiDef were even better, very saturated and tactile.
