Actually to be technical...Weinstein has never released any Blu-ray yet, only HD DVD, and they quit doing that months ago....
Since Buena Vista owns the rights to the individual volumes, I'd say we currently have a better chance of seeing those released on Blu-ray first...

Since there's no dates for anything, you could say it has the same release date as the Star Wars Holiday Special.

i'm always hopeful for something when i see this thread bumped... but it's always nada. and now i'm bumping it myself...

i've waited to so long, but the next time i see each individual volume go on sale for like $4.99 or something, i'll grab 'em. they've been that low, right? and at that price, i won't mind the eventual (hopefully eventual) double-dip

The Digital Bits says that Kill Bill has a 2009 BR release lined up.

"We've also learned that Kill Bill 1 & 2 and Finding Nemo are now being planned for release in 2009 on the format. You probably have questions about these titles, particularly Kill Bill, but no more information is available at this time. Obviously, it's way too early to talk about specific street dates, version and special features. Just know that they ARE on the way. And again, even though this information comes directly from studio sources, you should still consider it Rumor Mill-worthy until the titles are officially announced."

I work at a Transworld store (fye, suncoast, etc.) and this week we got a print out of all of the upcoming releases available for pre order and listed under TBA is Kill Bill the Whole Bloody Affair (NC-17) with a box art mock up. It doesn't have any other info but I thought it was interesting that we are taking pre orders for it.

You think so? While Disney controls Vol. 1 and 2, The Weinstein Company has the rights to TWBA. They aren't releasing anything on BD yet, but they may do so in the 3rd quarter of this year. The article doesn't specify if it's Weinstein or just Genius Products, which distributes their titles along with others. So, we don't know if Weinstein titles will be included. We'll see.

Didn't one of Bey Logan's blogs mention that Dragon Dynasty will be releasing this?

Ok, that’s an odd looking cover. Does anyone know if The Whole Bloody Affair will just be Kill Bill 1 & 2 spliced together or will it be a completely new re-edit of the two? I’m asking because I didn’t particularly like Kill Bill vol. 2 and thought that at least fifteen minuets (perhaps more) could’ve been cut out. Of course after watching Death Proof, I don’t have any real hope in future Tarantino projects. (I, as well as my brother, personally thought that Death Proof was a boring pile of shit)

I just watched this again on Saturday. I think it's pretty solid

A re-edit of the two films together would suck, IMO. I've watched Pulp Fiction "in order" and it's pretty weak sauce.

I called Death Proof boring because there wasn't anything going on to keep me interested. There was just talking and talking and talking and it wasn't even interesting dialog, it was all uninteresting bullshit. And I'm not a very big car guy, so the whole angle of finding the Vanishing Point car in the second half really did nothing for me (I've also never seen Vanishing Point nor do I have any real interest in seeing it). I also found both sets of girls to be very annoying. This movie just wasn't a very enjoyable experience for me and it has nothing to do with the strong female leads, I have no problem with that. I just didn't like the movie.
Actually, looking at the movies Tarantino has directed, I've only liked Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill 1. Jackie Brown was all right, but I don't see myself watching it again and I thought Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill 2, and Death Proof were boring. I think the problem I had with Reservoir Dogs was that I didn't see it until early 2003, and by that time it had so much hype built up around it and everyone I talked to said it was this ultra-violent, mind-blowing movie. So I have in my mind that it's a violent action movie, only to watch it and find out that it's a dialog driven crime drama. Although I'm willing to give it a second chance since I haven't seen it since then and I'm also willing to give Kill Bill 2 a second chance since I haven't seen it since it was in theaters in '04.

I don't mean re-edit as in put it in order, but rather re-edit as in redo it from scratch. I say this because I seem to recall the movie had a couple unnecessary scenes that didn't really add anything and I'm hoping these scenes will be cut out. The only one I remember (I know there were more) is where Bud goes to the bar he works at for a couple minuets, then leaves. I was also very disappointed with the ending.

For those who live in LA, Costa Mesa, San Diego or New York, check out your nearest Book-Off branch and you can get this dvd for a mere $25-30. Book-Off is the biggest second-hand bookstore chain that also sells dvds, CDs and other collectible items: http://www.bookoff.co.jp/en/info/kaigai01.html

The chances of releasing this so-called "Whole Bloody Affair" is close to nil for within the near future. Tarantino and Weinstein are just bringing this subject up all the time in interviews to wet our appetites but with little intention in doing so.
