Wasn't the lenticular cover a Target exclusive? That's where I recall buying mine.

from everything i've read it was Best Buy...sure you aren't thinking of V for Vendetta?

i got it used...but it looks like it's never been touched...the comic doesn't even have the spine broken...

For the exclusive Best Buy lenticular cover? I'd say you got a great deal...

I can't say I think you got a great deal there. Maybe if you consider a lenticular cover and a reduced-in-size-reprint-of-the-first-part-of-a-comic "must-haves"...Thirty bucks for that?

where the lenticular cover and reduced size reprint are recalled OOPs...i'd have to consider them must-haves if i can get it for anywhere under 35 bucks...but to each his own i guess.

Nope, the lenticular cover was a BB Exclusive. V for Vendetta and Harry Potter were Target exclusive lenticular covers.

Ripped. You can get the HD-DVD for $20. Sorry, a comic and special cover do nothing for me, while stunning High definition picture and awesome sound do.

My advise is sell it now and make your money. In 5-10 years it will be worth less than you paid for it now.

I saw the 2-disc Batman Begins at Wal-Mart for $9.99. As far as I know it just contained the 2-discs, no comic book or special packaging.

I have no opinion on whether or not you got a good deal, but why did you create a thread asking people for their opinions, and are now rebutting all of the non-positive ones?

Maybe change the "?" in the thread title to a "!" and it would be more honest.

you're probably right about that...just kinda got the feeling that people weren't really addressing the actual "deal" but were instead being condescending because i paid more for a special cover and a comic...

Does a dvd set count as "rare" when every Best Buy in the nation was selling them? Look, if you're happy with the set, be happy. But asking an online forum if it was a wise purchase is just begging for differing opinions on the matter.

i think the key word there is "was"...since it was recalled and is out of print...i'd consider that rare...
if you can walk into a best buy right now and find one...i'll pay you twice what it costs you.
but i do agree...i was just asking for an argument...

A lot of stores were out of the lenticular cover on the day of it's release, so yes this is rare. Shortly after the release of this I saw some sites trying to sell unopened versions for astronomical amounts like $500. I highly doubt they sold for that much, but still. I don't think you got a bad deal and the cover is pretty sweet.

remember "oop" doesn't equal "time to make money!!" or even rare whatsoever...take star wars figures. 8 years after Star Wars: Episode 1 (WOW THAT IS A LONG TIME!!!), figures are going for about 1/5 of their original price on ebay. Are they oop?? yeah...were they rare (yeah, i could never find a .00 Darth Maul 8 years ago)...it is going for $.99 on ebay...if you think you got ripped off, you did...if you don't, then you didn't.

No, those figures are not rare. That is why the price dropped on them. Same as with DVD's. That BB Batman is not rare. How many THOUSANDS do you think were sold? Ever wonder why comics from the golden age or sports cards from the 50's are so expensive. It is because everyone and their grandmothers were not hoarding them. Most (No, not all) of the collectible junk we buy today will be worth jack in 10 to 20 years.
