If there is one season where I have little time to sit and viddey film after film after film....it's late November through December. Too much traveling, too much working(to pay for holiday type bills) and too many family members hoggin' my viddey area.
Yup....family time takes over during that stretch, boys and girls.

I'm in the Horror challenge again this year, but I would not participate in a Holiday Movie Challenge. I would participate in a Sci-Fi Movie Challenge. The holiday genre is the least interesting, imo.

It would be hard for this genre, all I would watch is Bad Santa and Christmas vacation, maybe the home alone movies.

Well so far, it looks like we'll do 50 Movies / TV Shows from November 20th to December 25...
So look for the new thread to be posted in the next month.

I'd be in for any type of a movie watching challenge. This is my first one (the horror one) and I'm liking it so far. I can't think of that many Christmas movies there would be to watch. I might only have about 20 in my collection, and can't think of many I would Netflix.

I agree, but then again, the DC Jewish Film Festival and AFI's European Union Film Festival happen as well, so, time gets blocked off for other non-Holiday movies.

I'd like to add some non-holiday movies to the challenge as well. I've got loads of holiday themed DVDs but I make it a point to watch stuff like King Kong, Galdiator, Saving Private Ryan, Alien Quadrilogy etc around this time of year.

The basic rules are as follows:
ANY Film that takes place during the holiday season (i.e. Die Hard, Gremlins, Batman Returns, Silent Night Deadly Night, etc.)
ANY TV show episode that deals with any holiday around that time (i.e. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, etc.)
A film can be viewed only once, but can be viewed again with a commentary.
Those are the basic rules and will be posted soon enough.

Sounds like fun to me! I'm in! I love Holiday themed TV show episodes.
I know I'm definitely watching:
All Holiday themed "Friends" episodes
"Giblets for Murray" <--- from "Mad About You"
Couple of holiday "X-Files" ones
I'm sure I'll think of more

Okay
It's is OFFICIAL!
The 2nd Annual Holiday Movie Challenge will be 50 movies or TV shows from November 20th to December 25th.
The new thread will be up soon, and the results from last year as well, since I never got around to doing that last year. YEA!
