Of course you saw Goodburger CC here years ago. I dont know what you find so funny. Also, thats not a mockup- that was the original design on its initial release. I cant be surprised that Criterion would adapt it for its GLORIOUS HD debut.

Ketsup packet scratch and sniff inserts. Mustard color disc art. The possibilities are wonderous.

I consider the Nickelodeon Trilogy to be up there with the Orphic Trilogy in importance for one. Criterion never apologized for the public debacle surrounding the original Goodburger CC. Now its out of print and, due to not even having the rights the first time, its been stripped completely from its catalog. Even SALO didnt get it that bad.

I guess maybe we should be hoping for a Hitchcock Criterion type box set for the Nick series of classics down the road. That would make sense from Criterion- they usually relish releasing films one at a time unless they come from a single auteur

This film could actually make for some interesting theme packaging. How about a hamburger bun looking outer case with a lettuce insert, a tomato coupon book, a cheese disc one, and a meat patty disc two?

I'm actually curious. If Paramount were to actually give the rights to Criterion, maybe even pay them, would Criterion release this film?

I heard R2 is getting a 2 disc SE. It's no criterion, but it's better then the bare bones release we have here in the states. I'm importing for sure.

The company's mission statement reads:

"The Criterion Collection, a continuing series of important classic and contemporary films, is dedicated to gathering the greatest films from around the world and publishing them in editions that offer the highest technical quality and award-winning, original supplements."

The glaring absence of Good Burger in their catalog is just shameful.

I am picking up a least 2. I heard that Criterion would be taking preorders for a small time and those would be the only copies pressed. With all the film snobs passing on it, this could become the holy grail to dvd collectors.
