I was actually wondering the same thing. I was thinking about waiting to pick this up but it appears it is going to be less than $15 on release day. Decisions, decisions.

I haven't seen anything, but the extended cut for the first one came out of nowhere. Given that it's Sony, I would guarantee there'll be a few more editions before the next sequal.

Given that the third film is already in production, atleast one more release in the future is a given. The only question is will it be in standard DVD or only Blu-Ray?

It will probably be both. It seems that even as far out as 2007 they are co-announcing Blu-Ray/HD/DVD versions.

Really? How many HD discs are they releasing in 2007?

There's no way Sony is going to release major titles as Blu-ray-only. HD doesn't have nearly the market penetration that standard TV and DVD have, and it won't have for several years to come.

Yes, but then again while this movie likes to think its mainstream, pretty much the only people that would double dip on it are people in the cult-following... plus the third movie won't be out until 2008 at the very very earliest, and by then things could be completely different...
