I wonder if this will be a new transfer. Even if it's not, it will probably benefit by better compression.

I'm sure I'll be picking this up.

I never picked up the other version, so I'll definitely get this one.

Also, I certainly remember that scene by the pool...but hadn't heard about it being left off the last DVD, or anything of the sort. What's the story behind that?

I'll have to think this over carefully. There will have to be a big reason for me to double dip on this. Don't misunderstand, I love the film, but I hate double dipping.

Sweet. I could never be bothered to get the first one. It would be cool if Best Buy sells it with a Ferris bobble-head to go with Tommy Boy too.

There was a big debate whether or not the scene actually exists. I don't think anyone has been able to track down any available version that has it or even a screen cap of it. I certainly remember it, so do many others, but some folks swear we are all crazy.

Being that this movie is 15 years old, if this scene truley existed, we would have seen it in some way. I do not recall this one bit, and have seen it numerous times on cable.

Been holding off on the current disc, b/c I had heard of something new coming...

Besides it's really obvious by looking at the current disc that another release would eventual be done.

I'll pick this up!

I'll definately pick this one up. I passed on the first release.

I would have called it Ferris Bueller's Day Off: Let My Cameron Go Edition

Why this wasn't called the "Save Ferris Edition" is beyond me.

It's mildly better than what they decided to call it.

No kidding? Odd. Well, I certainly remember it, and hadn't heard of it ever being disputed. I guess you learn something new everyday..

I think the names are cool. It shows someone that actually cares about the film is involved in the production of the DVD. I like it and am correct forever.

Thank you, Simone.

Fellas, fellas!

It obviously should be the "My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night" Edition. "I guess it's pretty serious."

It would be awesome. There wouldn't even be room for the "Widescreen Collection" banner.

BOMM,

CS

Ha...if someone who actually cared about the movie was involved in the production, they would have named it the Save Ferris Edition. End of story.

(Or given it some respect and not given it a stupid name at all.)

I will wait for specs before giving my stamp of approval.

Having said that, its hard to imagine how they could screw up this version that would keep me from buying it.
