1. I am a horror fan.

2. I have a lot of free time this upcoming month.

I still couldn't get near watching 100 horror movies in a month. I think I may go insane. But, I'll watch several.

31 would be a challenge for me. I might attempt that. But, 13 I would be able to do. But, I may try for 31.

I am going to shoot for 31 horror movies but I will likely get closer to half that. I am just going to make any movie I watch be a horror one. I wish I could have gotten this response for my "watch the James Bond movies" thread.

Well, given that I was going to see Serenity, Oliver Twist, and History of Violence tomorrow, I'll instead only see Serenity and hold the other two for Saturday (maybe even a 2nd showing of Serentiy) to get started on the road to 100.

Do TV sets count at all, and if so, how? I've Lost season 1 to get through and would try to make that count somehow .

I know that I can watch at least 50, I'm going to try for 100.

So do movies on AMC/Bravo/SciFi not count? If not that may hinder my count because I plan on watching a bunch of stuff on basic cable too. On October 15th alone on SciFi they are showing Day of the Dead, Return of the Living Dead 3-5, and Godzilla vs. Mecha Godzilla and I plan on watching all of it.

no the rules are loose...but basically this

1. it can be a movie broadcast on tv
2. it can be a dvd, laserdisc, vhs
3. It has to be 40 minutes or more to count as a movie.
4. Horror movie is loose but consist of anything with monsters, serial killers, zombies, and so on...sci fi can count (alien would, star wars would not) and so on
5. Can't start the movie until midnight on friday night/saturday morning...must be finished by midnight on halloween.
6. watching a movie with a commentary counts
7. watching alternate cuts of the same movie does not

more than anything have fun with it....

cannibal films?

In regards to #7 - why? what's your reasoning? You can watch a movie with commentary and count that, yet not a film with footage put back in (i.e, Texas Chainsaw Massacre III - I've seen the R-rated version, but not the unrated version)

i was just going with what the OP said in post 14....he seems to have thrown it out...so watching alternate cuts do count....but you have to watch the entire film.

cannibal films should count...

If we're just talking movies and not specific DVDs, shouldn't this be in Movie Talk?

In the original post, it stated that it can be any movie, not just horror, but from other posts it sounds like they must be horror movies. Which is it?

I think it should just be horror. October is the month that horror movies get the spotlight. The other genres should be put on hold.

If it's just horror movies, then I'll have to change my count to probably 20 or less.. I don't have a lot of horror/suspense films in my back catalog, and those are always the first to get watched.
