Welcome to round one of the DVDTalk Draft Tournament! In this thread, the players drafted a roster of ten DVDs each. Now, it is up to you, the DVDTalk community, to vote on who has the best collection.

For round 1, all the players have been randomly paired up. In order to vote, you need to reply to this post telling me who you think has the best roster. Your vote will not count unless you vote on every pair!

Players in the game are also allowed to vote. Optionally, they are also allowed to post to this thread telling everybody why they think you should vote for their collection.

So, let the voting begin! The polls close exactly 24 hours after the timestamp of this post. Match-ups will be listed in the first reply to this post.

At first glance, you may think my DVD's are weak or unpopular titles. But my strategy was to draft rare and/or Out of Print DVD's. The majority of them are no longer available. Some of them are extremely rare after being recalled after only a few days or weeks on the market.
1. Flash Gordon (1980) Selling for around $180 new
2. Supergirl LE - contains both theatrical and director's cut. Limited and numbered to 50,000 Selling for about $124+ new (Since we could draft any dvd, mine is #1 of 50,000)
3. Hard Boiled (Criterion) Selling around $90 new. Criterion Collection!
4. Mystery Science Theater 3000: the Movie - Rare because they did not have the rights involving the movie THIS ISLAND EARTH. Selling for over $125+ new!
5. Swamp Thing (Uncut, Recalled) Pulled out of stores after the uncut version was rated PG. Adrienne Barbeau topless is worth a vote right there! Selling for around $135 new!
6. This Island Earth OOP. Selling up to $400 New!!!
7. X- files season 1. We could pick 1 TV set, so I took one of the best TV shows ever.
8. Friday the 13th - From Crystal Lake to Manhattan (8 Movies). We could also take 1 box set. I got 8 movies!
9. Fletch - selling for $99 new. Will probably be rereleased but right now this one is OOP!
10. Little Shop of Horrors SE. This was recalled after 2 days. Had an alternate B&W ending that the director did not approve of. Very rare. Selling for up to $190 Used!

Read up on it a little, its probably not for everyone. Its good, but can be kinda slow at some points(really suits the movie's style, though). It is a little long at nearly 3 hours, but I like long movies and it still is one of the best ones I've seen in the past few years.
