So far, it looks like we're getting Classic AND New Who on the same day!
TVShowsonDVD just put this up:
Doctor Who - Early Season 3 information
Looks like it's coming on November 6
Posted by Gord Lacey
The other day we received an email from David Jessup pointing us to a new listing on the BBC America website advertising the third season of Doctor Who for release on November 6. The listing starts by stating, "This title is still being worked on, so we cannot take pre-orders yet" then includes this description:
From the moment the Doctor (David Tennant) walks into the life of medical student Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) he changes it forever. Together they find themselves travelling through time and space encountering extraordinary events, amazing worlds and faces both old and new.
In Elizabethan London, they meet William Shakespeare at the Globe Theatre where witch-like creatures are plotting to create a Carrionite empire on Earth. In the year Five Billion and Fifty Three, Mankind and Catkind are caught in a terrible trap while back in present day London 76 year old Professor Lazarus recaptures his youth with consequences that threaten Martha’s entire family.
Martha and the Doctor’s journey also brings them face to face with the ruthless Judoon, a vicious plasmavore and the Doctor’s sworn enemies, the Daleks, who have been hiding in1930s New York with a terrifying plan for humanity.
Hopefully we'll have an announcement from the studio soon, but we wanted to give you a heads up. Thanks to David for sending the info along.

Does my subscription to this thread keep just "falling off" or something? Anyways, cool news about the new Key to Time Tom Baker commentaries, particularly the Lalla story.

I haven't seen the entire season yet (I think this Friday on SciFi catches me up), but whoever says the line in the trailer about burning at the center of time has me itching for more!!

When I try to use the WBNEWS coupon code to get 20% off I see this error "This coupon has already been redeemed."
I've never used this site before so I'm not sure why.
Would wait to order until Sat to save on tax, no tax day in MA.
Then it'd only be about $57.xx shipped if I could get the 20%, 10%, and free shipping coupons to stack properly.

I used this code WBWEL and it gave me the 20% off.....dont think they made it to stack with others though...that ended when everyone began stacking them.
The site gives you the free shipping on every order over $60.

o....after about... the episode 42, the series really starts picking up motion and doesnt stop. Not that "42" and the Lazarus Experiment arent good but, those last 6 episodes are the most memorable to me and very exciting.
Your in for a treat...but too bad Sci-Fi is going to cut out some great bits from the 53 minute finale episode.

What?!
Maybe they'll let it run long like they did with the Christmas Invasion eps?
Yes, I have those remaining 8 episodes left. Lazarus should be tonight.

Torchwood - DVD Date for Doctor Who Spin-Off IS Accurate, After All
Expect Torchwood - Series 1 on January 8th

A few weeks ago we posted a story that the BBC America Website was stating that we would see DVDs of Torchwood - Series 1 on January 8th. That listing for the Doctor Who spin-off starring John Barrowman as the charismatic "Captain Jack Harkness" still shows that release date, even though a few days later we posted an update, because the BBC had informed us the date was not correct, and that the release date had yet to be finalized.
Late yesterday we learned that the January 8th release date IS correct after all. We've also learned separately that this is planned to be a 7-disc set running about 10 hours, and presented in Widescreen. No other details are available yet, nor is cover art. But stay tuned and we'll keep you informed!
