Instead of doing another remake of this film, it would be cool if they could do a "Freddy vs. Jason" type movie between The Fly and Mosquito Man.
Now, that would be worth paying to see!

Nay--Brundlefly versus Shelob from LOTR: The Return of the King! Yeah, that's the ticket!

This is a bit of a dilema for me. I've never been a HUGE fan of part 2, but gladly accepted it as part of the double feature. Now that I'm dumping the original bare bones and double-dipping... do I get the 2nd one too? Damn... I'm honestly not sure. I'll probably wait on it and see if I miss it. But, knowing me, I probably will.
That's a sure sign of addiction. Worrying that you don't have the new SE of a thoroughly mediocre film that you don't even watch often.

hooray! we all finally get to see the famous "monkey-cat" deleted scene!!!
the only reason I liked the sequel was the very pretty cool head squashing by elevator scene.

DVD Answers is reporting a one week delay for these sets:

They'll now be released October 4th. Could a mod change the thread heading?

I haven't seen this film in years- always one of my favorites but I had forgotten about it. Special Edition sounds good, can't wait to see it. I remember the effects being plenty gruesome when I was younger - I'm curious to see if they still hold up.
Sequel never did much for me but had the great line "I'm getting better"

Since I have put off getting either of these I will be picking up both. Obviously the first was great but I enjoyed the second enough to buy it as well (assuming a reasonable price).
