Problems with Munsters 1st Season DVD
I suppose it was expected given the history of problems with Universal's DVD releases, but disappointing and frustrating nonetheless: Disk 1, Side A, played through fine and gave me a false sense of hope, but part-way through Disk 1, Side B, the video started freezing up and pixelating. There are no surface marks, just defective manufacturing and dismal quality control; on par for Universal. Again, I'm going to have to go back to the store to return their disks for an exchange. Lovely.
Curious, how wide-spread is the problem on this Munster's 1st Season set? Anyone watched all 38 episodes: problem-free or defects?

Curious, are you watching these on an older or very low end player?
I've had issues playing back dual sided, double layered discs such as the recent Universal releases on my older unit, but they all play fine on my recently purchased DVD player.
I wouldn't be so sure these discs are defective, it may simply be time to buy a new player that can better handle the newer technology.

The audio on episode "Lock Your Doors Here Comes Charlie" drops to a whisper but the rest of my DVD sounds fine. Universal probably uses a crummy manufacturing plant, I reckon.

If it would be a help to you, post which episode(s) [including the approx. time(s) when the problem(s) happens] you cannot play and I, for one, will be happy to check my copy.
So far, I've watched about 10 episodes w/o any issues.

I've managed to get through the first two discs in the set and experienced no problems so far. I would suspect a defective disc if it is having play back issues with two different DVD players.

I'm having freezing problems on the same episode, Knock Wood, Here Comes Charlie. Is anyone having problems on other discs, or just disc 1, side B?
