Is there a 2 disc of Day After Tomorrow in the works?

Does anybody know or have heard if there will be a Collector's Edition or SPeical Edition of Day After Tomorrow?

The initial release in both Regions 2 & 3 was a 2-disc set so I'd expect a 2-disc version to land in Region 1 sometime soon.

Seeing as there's going to be a sequel, I expect a special release will probably be out when the movie comes out.

one disc was bad enough, why would anyone want 2 DVD's of this crap? I was really pissed that I wasted my blockbuster free coupon on it.

Hey, since you're in a position to know (I won't divulge to protect the innocent ), maybe you need to start a sticky thread warning us of those foxy double dips that may be coming soon

as for the movie, I felt there were a number of plot holes and scenes that never played out, how much did Emmerich cut for the theatrical version of the film? I would think an expanded version (if one were ever to materialize) might flesh out some of these film's kinks.

I had read the same things (on another board) about Man On Fire, Day After Tomorrow & I, Robot 2 disc editions being readied for 2005. I'd already bought Man On Fire but am holding off on the other 2. If they don't materialize I'll pick 'em up when they have a price reduction.

I can't believe they're making a sequel to that giant turd of a movie. I wasted two hours watching it on an airplane -- I should have slept instead. Wasn't one disc enough?

Consider yourself lucky... I had to watch Hollywood Homcide... they even handed out the headphones for free.

And I'll ask the obvious question: why are they making Region 1 owners double-dip, but not Region 2 and 3 owners?

Doesn't the Region 1 2-disc SE of Man on Fire come out in January?

Not quite. The movie you are thinking of, "The Girl Next Door" (notice the sigularity of the word 'girl') stars Elisha Cuthbert as a former (not quite) porn star.

The movie Emmerich is doing is entitled "The Girls Next Door" (girls = plural). It is, from what I understand, about a Mexican girl who is kidnapped and forced to become a prostitute. The girls brother teams up with a police officer (who's daughter has also been kidnapped) to get their loved ones back...

That turd turned a profit. Fox has had a great year and compared to the other studios, only had a few duds. Welcome to a free market.

I got Day After Tomorrow and Man On Fire for $7.77 each at BB after PM to Target's BF sale. For this price, I'm ok with them even a 2-disc version may be in the works.

I picked it up as a blind-buy for $8.88 @ Target's BF sale. Does it at least have good visual effects? Is it enjoyable in an "Armageddon" sort of way?
