No word on the size of the T-shirt yet. The subsequent SEs are now priced at $34.99 SRP - a sign that they may not contain any bonus item at all but no one knows for sure yet.

I love this show! Just revised vol 2 tonight with Japness sound. I always watch anime first dubbed ( to get the overall story ) and then in the original to get the details. I love how this show unfolds, sorta like the movie, but not as complex though! ( The movie has sooo many layers. ) I also love the sci fi univers it takes place in. All people don't just interact with technology they use it as a normal exstension of them self. Its intrigated in their life. I think especially nano tech. will do this. Cool to see that much nano tech. in the show.
Anyway has anoyone picked up vol 3 yet? In either normale or SE? Which size is the T-shirt?

Vol. 3 won't be out for another 10 days. I'm also wondering what size the T-shirt is. Most likely a XL.

The third volume starts slowly, with a chat room talk about the Laughing Man that the Major is listening in on, disguised. It's good background, but dialogue driven....then the episodes really pick up: A hunt for a serial killer that Batou knows, a search for Laughing Man clues at a creepy children's institution ("See, what I thought was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf mutes"), and a lighter tale about one of the Tachikomas (sp?) breaking out of its home.

I'd say more, but I'd be crucified for spoiling it.....I thought it was the best group of episodes yet.

Do you have detail pic(s) of the whole thing excluding the shirt. The box looks pretty thick and from the bottom of the box there seems to be two inner boxes(?).

What's the digipack like thing to the right of the box?

Just ordered it. Looking forward to it! Love the semi Philosophical Tachikomas.
Also in vol 2. episode 5 (Possible spoiler if you havn't seen vol 2!!!)
who is motoko female friend? Her girlfriend perhaps? "Or am I dreaming." Because they were wearing skimpy outfits. Of course the Major is dressed this way as well.

The box is not as thick as you think. There's just 1 inner box to hold the T-shirt. That's the DVD right beside the box.

Kusanagi is bisexual in the manga.

Her friend is also the nurse seen in the 8th episode.

What's the scuttlebutt on the next volume, anyone?

It streets Jan. 25. That and Paranoia Agent are the 2005 anime I'm looking forward to, especially after the GITS Innocence DVD was so mussed up....Dreamworks must have thought people would buy it regardless of how little work they put into the subtitles.

Nah, they just forget to put in that one extra set.

I will buy it anyways to support non dubbed anime.

What's going to be the extra in the next volume of the SE of SAC?

I believe it's just the DTS disc....not worth the extra money....

Other than the font size, the worst thing about Innocence subtitles is that all the ambient noises flash on the screen ("helicopter approaching" "crowd noise" "Batou sighs"). Dreamworks wasn't that incosiderate with Millennium Actress.....but that's another thread

I believe that the SE version of the next volume also comes with an ID card or something like that

Not a clue how the ID card looks like. However, while the regular edition is still listed at $25, the SE (Vol. 4 onwards) is priced at $30 now

*shrug* I wish I hadn't bought the regular edition for 3, since the cover and the inserts are a little different, so it doesn't go with my other two as well. But since I already did, I don't know if I'll continue with the SEs.

Anyone know if there is going to be a box/case released for all volumes? I like it when new collections start with Vol 1, coming with the box, to store later volumes.

No announcement of a pending art box for the GitS:SAC 1st Gig. However, one would wish that Bandai would make a box as the LE item for the last volume of SE.

I emailed the guy of this site; http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/anime.html
This is what he said;

"Hey, I was just wondering if you might do a Ghost in the shell stand alone complex at some point?
Regards Kris, Denmark"
Answer:
Hello Kris,

I did receive quite a few requests for that one.
How many DVDs in the series?

I'm going to look into it for a future project

Thanks

Paul
and now I got:
Hey Kris,

it will depend on what artwork I can find.
I will let you know if the project goes through

Thanks

Paul

Maybe you guys should email him too so we can show that it has an intrest!

Vol. 4 is my favorite volume so far. Excellent action sequences, and Batou really gets a chance to shine in the last ep. on the disc. And Bandai has now said that there will be a box to hold all the discs that will arrive with Disc 7.
