Pillow Talk replacement disks from Universal?

I pulled this info from another site and was wondering if anyone has been successful in getting their copy of the re-issued anamorphic version of "Pillow Talk" replaced, or at least gotten the ball rolling. This was supposed to fix the bad framing issues and should apply whether you have the single disk or the Rock Hudson-Doris Day Collection box set.
"I had asked Universal about the framing issue when it first surfaced and finally heard back yesterday. During that time, it was obviously working on the issue, because it says it was made aware of the problem, has fixed it and will have replacement discs available starting in June."

Here are the details, according to Universal:

quote:

To receive a disc replacement and to obtain a pre-paid USPS envelope in which to mail back the original disc, please call 1-800-222-6280. Replacement discs are currently scheduled to be available June 2004.

I called the first day the line was set up, and then sent off the disc a week or so later the day I got the return envelope.

So far nothing has shown up yet via return mail.

Why can't Universal frame their DVD's properly? It seems to be a constant problem for them. At least they've been good about making replacement discs available for those of us that hear about the problem. But they need to take a serious look at their quality control.

Is there a generic Universal number to call for other replacement discs?

I only just received my copy of the Rock Hudson and Doris Day Collection on Thursday from the DDD sale, but I did call and request the mailer yesterday.

Which discs do you want to replace? You could start with the numbers located in the following thread.

I just wanted to post a quick update for those who are interested in contacting Universal for a replacement disk.

I called the number (1-800-222-6280) and the operator said that they are indeed aware of the framing problems. I ordered my replacement disk package (to send my old disk back). Others on another site have confirmed that their new disk has the framing issues fixed.
Hooray!

Thanks for the heads up. I have this as part of the box set but have not watched it yet. I called for my replacement envelope.

The people who frequent this site are great. I get lots of information I would not otherwise know about. Also thanks to everyone who shares the love.

Received my Pillow Talk replacement disc a few days ago. It took 12 days to get the new disc from the time I returned the old one in the mail for anyone interested. Also here are the numbers on the inner hubs of both discs that should help you identify the old disc from the new corrected version.

Old (BB25084R0SP) J04B1326D

New (BB25084R1SP) J04F2929A

My "old' disk has a different code on the back hub. Mine is from the Rock Hudson/Doris Day box set, which is probably why.
It says: (230453) 25084(R0) 01

More kudos for Universal's DVD returns processing...only a two-week turnaround in getting my Pillow Talk replacement disc.

Now, if Warner Bros. would correctly process the return/exchange of my misframed Kiss Me Kate disc...it's only been FIVE MONTHS!
