Happy Gilmore/Billy Madison SE Details

Does anybody know for sure that these are going to be released on the 31st of August? Also, does anybody know the specs: What extras will be on the discs, how many discs per movie, formats etc.

I have been searching the net far and wide and I have not came up with much other than the release date.

I have been waiting for years for these to be released as Special Editions, I even wrote and email on the Adam Sandler website (which has no news about these dvds surprisingly)about a year ago. Maybe a bunch of people were asking for SE's. These are without a doubt his two best movies, Happy Gilmore being the better or the two.

Unless Billy Madison is a new transfer, I will just keep the current version.

DVDEMPIRE is showing alternate ending, deleted scenes, and more. Not sure for which movie or maybe it's both. Definitely want those TV scenes, I figure that is what they mean by deleted scenes.

yeah good point steve, i remeber that they show different scenes for both movies actually when they are on television. In Billy Madison they have a madison workers kickball game when billy is studying for the decathalon. In happy gilmore I think they have a few extra scenes with ben stiller as the orderly guy, and and alternate version of the swear fest happy says. alternate ending for happy would be sick.

So are these only being released together then, similar to what Universal has done with Conan, Smoky and the Bandit, etc. I mean, I will probably buy both, but I want to know if they are in separate cases inside a box or one single case. I guess regardless I might as well unload my Billy Madison (which I just bought a month ago!).

The whole Adam Sandler box set should be re-released. All flicks should be 16:9 with some funny outtakes.

All Universal has to do to make a winner is....

...Tap it in, just tap it in.

That is not a snapper case ala WB. Universal calls all their standard cases a "snap case". It's a basic amaray-like keepcase, similar to the rest of the universal releases.

I am waiting for details on these. As long as they are remastered amamorphic transfers, I'll be happy. I need to upgrade my VHS!
