Re: In need of slipcovers... you have them?

Have you contacted the studios that produced those movies on DVD/Blu-ray? With one exception, every studio I have contacted about getting a replacement slipcover has either sent me a replacement free of charge, or given me the option to buy a replacement for a minimal fee.

Re: In need of slipcovers... you have them?

I did try this for a few but did not have much luck except with Disney... however, I mostly just had trouble figuring out who to contact or how to do it... I did find a thread on here that had a list of some customer service contacts but it was pretty old. Do you have a list of contacts? Did you e-mail, write or talk on the phone? What worked better?

Re: In need of slipcovers... you have them?

I contacted the studios directly from their websites, and once I received a response, I just replied to their response (usually by e-mail) to provide any information that they needed.

Awesome... thanks so much!

Do you have contacts for New Line or MGM? Those are the only other two I need that I could not find...

http://shop.mgm.com/contacts/ (this is the Studio Store, but it should be able to point you in the right direction).

[email protected]

Or possibly try contacting Warner Bros:

Re: In need of slipcovers... you have them?

Awesome... In your experience do the studios frown upon asking for more than one at a time? Or did that work for you? Just dont want to ruin my chances by giving them a list...

Re: In need of slipcovers... you have them?

Well I went ahead and sent e-mails... got one back from Paramount that said they received my e-mail and are working on a reply (must be one of those automatic response deals) and one back from MGM that gave me a different contact... [email protected] if anyone is interested...

In truth, the most I have ever needed was one from each studio, so I don't know how the customer service department would respond to such a request. Sorry.

Re: In need of slipcovers... you have them?

Well... one success and one failure so far! Lionsgate let me know that they did not have any of the ones I needed... but Universal is sending a few my way! Woo hoo!!

Re: In need of slipcovers... you have them?

Yeah, Universal is usually good about sending covers. I needed a new cover for the Jurassic Park blu-rays and they sent it. Another one was a 4 movie set from Universal. I asked for a cover and they messed up and sent me the cover insert. Amazingly, they said they were sorry and sent me the actual slipcover. Fox was also pretty nice when they sent me a lenticular cover for Night At The Museum. Disney was also extremely nice about sending covers, often several at a time. But now they charge like 3 bucks for covers.

No go from Fox... and heard back from Disney too but they did not have the ones I needed. Bummer!

However, they are still selling some so if you need some I would definitely give them a try!

Re: In need of slipcovers... you have them?

Good to hear that you were able to get at least some replacement slipcovers. And I'm surprised that some studios apparently didn't have any replacements available. I guess maybe studios just don't make as many extras as in the past.

@jzurawski:

Please keep updating this with the slipcovers you've been able to obtain. I have at a handful of older DVD's for which I wouldn't mind having the slipcovers, but never tried contacting anybody, given my poor track record getting missing liner notes. Thanks!

Yeah, either they are sold out of the ones that they had or are just getting stingy and not willing to ship them... However, I offered to pay for them so I think maybe they are just all out.

Well, the ones that Universal said that they sent are on their way so when they arrive I will let you know which ones they are... However, I went to a Disc Replay store today and found a few that they sold me for $1 each...

Got:
- The Day After Tomorrow Widescreen Lenticular
- AVP Widescreen
- Fantastic Four Widescreen
and one I was really excited about... Disney Tarzan special edition...

I am so close to having the entire animated Disney collection complete!! Only 2 more slipcovers to go...

If they didn't then that would make me happy... I was just going by what the dvd profiler software I use to organize all my collection told me...
