Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Complete Collection

Laziest re-package they could've done right here:

Obviously the ANGEL complete collection would be exactly the same thing.

Holy crap...

That's terrible. Definitely worth seeking out the slick original "complete" collections.

No kidding... on my set you can see wrinkles from where the shrinkwrap used to be and the spines of each case have all those tiny shreds of leftover plastic on them.. its not that bad for the sale price but if this was full price it would be going back for sure. $200 list price and you cant spare a few cents for some new plastic cases...

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

Anybody know if FOX has re-released season 1 Tru Calling in the new slim packaging?

As a huge fan of the thinner packaging, I really hope they do this with "The X-Files". I would like to get the complete, 7-disc sets in the "24" style thicker plastic cases, in the "Complete Series" Set. Sadly, if they did anything, I bet they'd cheap out and just use the 6-discers, but having just started into this show, it looks like it might currently, quietly, be out of print, and I'm wondering if they have something planned.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

OK, I don't know if this has been asked already...I just noticed this thread and didn't read through all four pages yet. But can these cases be ordered from Fox WITHOUT the DVDs in them for a low price? I'd like to replace my cases in my collection for space saving sake, but I am certainly not going to rebuy season sets just to get the better cases.

No sadly, I do an online search for them about once a month to see if I can find them for sale and i've yet to have any luck. It's not only fox that uses them though, ABC and WB do as well.

What calhoun is asking is if they can get the repackages straight from Fox. Might be worth calling a 1-800 customer service number to try and find out.

Oh I knew what he was asking, trust me, people have tried that with no luck. All I know is the brand of the packages is a variant on One-Time packaging.

Is it OK to ask where a guy can find custom made cover art for TV show titles then? Because if I can't buy new cases directly from the studios sans the DVDs I would like to just print my own covers and buy some empty cases. Space is an issue in my collection...I'd rather get slimmer cases than have to get rid of stuff.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

Any idea if "Friday Night Lights" has been or will be re-issued in slim cases instead of the digipaks that the seasons are in now?

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

Doubt it, NBC/Universal hasn't shown any interest in moving to the slim cases. All of their new or current shows are still using digipaks.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

I saw seasons 1 and 8 of South Park in the slim packaging at walmart the other day. They had a brand new cover design as well.

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about them. The designs themselves aren't bad but I don't really see the point of them since the show isn't over yet. Are they gonna continue this design for future realeases? Usually they only do these slim releases on a current show if the new seasons have switched to the slim packaging.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

I just found out last week, Smallville Seasons 2-4 are now available in the new slim packaging.

I'm NOT sure if season 1 is available in this new packaging.

Can anyone confirm if Season 1 is available in the new packaging?

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

Saw those South Park sets the other day.

Horrible, horrible covers. They look like Asian bootlegs.

The design is awful... they don't use the "South Park" logo, all of the little screens in the background clutter up the cover and the figures in the foreground sort of melt into them.
