awesome thread guys! I never knew about steelbook until I saw this. I see on ebay a lot of people are calling these "rare" and hard to find. Is this true? One of the sellers had I am Legend and stated that the steelbook is rare and out of print.

He is correct by saying its OOP, but its not rare at all, go to Amazon.com, they have them used for cheap.

i would be leery of eBay when they say rare and OOP. almost every SteelBook i see there is listed as such when that is not the case at all and they jack the prices up thinking as such. some, of course, are, but not every single one.

also, with Terminator: Salvation, saw on the pre-release board that it had no "Exclusive Steelcase packaging" little bubble. Harry Potter and Star Trek did, but not Terminator. Didn't feel like asking because the guy ringing me was not the best. he saw my reciept that i got for GI Joe, Termiantor and Harry Potter, actually gave me GI Joe and Terminator: Salvation: Machinma Series or whatever the release for that today was.

Walmart Canada has G.I. Joe:ROC as a DVD Steelbook. Not sure if it's the same as the US FYE one, but Snake Eyes is on the cover. They're going for C$26.83.

Thanks guys I will be looking at amazon for my purchases.

I went into entertainmart tonight and asked them if they had any steelbooks and they gave me a blank stare. I was like c'mon guys you are a DVD store and you have no idea what I am talking about???

There aren't any rules to steelbook releases. A number of steelbooks are exclusive to Best Buy or TWEC stores (which include FYE and Suncoast.) But there are still a lot that are available everywhere. Some are only available for a limited time but aren't exclusives.

Ok, I just saw this. It all but confirms that TWEC will not be doing a T4 steelbook after all.

That is all the same speculation that has been going on here. Reports of one employee saying it si going to eb a steelbook, and another employee saying it isnt. None of it is confirmation either way.

I like it except for the plastic but thats ok.

that is an odd first one. Congrats though. We have you now!
every other SteelBook is not like the "Up" which is a Jumbo Blu-ray sized SteelBook. i don't like it personally, but the more traditional Standard DVD SteelBooks are the ones to look out for and, i think, are much better.
