Has anyone been able to pre-order the Dark Knight steelbook yet? I tried to pre-order that and Indiana Jones when I went to pick up Iron Man, but they said the only versions in the system were the 1 and 2 disc. I guess I'll try again when I pick up Indiana Jones.

I pre-ordered mine on Saturday.

The sku she was entering wouldn't pop up in the system but when she scanned the barcode from the book, it worked.

He looked in the book, and said he couldn't find the sku. I guess I just had a stupid employee.

I don't know if this was a problem at most stores, but at the Futureshop I went to a lot of the blu-ray Iron Man steelbooks had the discs loose inside the case. It took me a while to find one that was in good condition and had the discs secure inside.

Yeah same problem at my FS. I went at noon and they had 5 copies left, 1 was dented, 3 had the discs loose, the final one was good.

They had almost 50 Iron Man Regular Steelbook

Three of the four stores in my city are sold out of the Blu-ray SteelBooks.

Since really getting into Steelbooks this year, I've found that FYE is loads of fun to go to and hunt for 'em. Just the other day I picked up The Quiet Earth, Cloverfield, and Robocop. All new.

I picked up the Godfather Steely at my FYE last week but had to go thru 6 to find one that was not dented. My local FYE has a few previous steelbook releases such as cloverfield, 10,000 bc and a few others mixed in among the regular releases. I have yet to pick up my Ironman Steely Pre-order but from the pics you guys have posted it looks great!. I pre-ordered The Black Knight Steelbook a few weeks ago when I ordered the Iromman Steelbook. I usually don't buy this many Steelbooks but these releases are SWEEET! I read FYE is giving a $7.00 rebate with purchase of the Ironman Steelbook...Just makes it that much better buying the STEEL.....Enjoy!

At my FYE, there was a $2 coupon for pre-ordering. Regular price was $26.99 - 10% backstage pass discount ($2.70) - $2 coupon = $22.29. Then after the $7 rebate it will be $15.29. Pretty pleased.

I picked up Godfather SB yesterday, it was my b-day, so got 20% off with FYE Backstage Pass, and with the sale and rebate, it will only cost me about $30. It's a nice set, can't beat the price.

Quick comment though... I spent a good while examining and comparing all of the Godfather SB's to make sure I got the most pristine copy. BUT, when I got home and unwrapped it, I found two little silver marks on the cover that were obscured by the stickers. I can't seem to win, here! I guess I will settle with the fact that Steelbooks are fragile and will sometimes come with some paint imperfections.

Anyway, glad to be here finally!
Feel lucky. I bought the only copy of the Godfather steelbook that I could find at my local FYE, and when I went to open it, it had a noticeable dent in it. Not about to return it though since they didn't have any more copies of the steelbook. Conversely, they had an insane amount of the Iron Man steelbooks this week. There had to be at least 30 copies on the shelves this afternoon.
While I'm posting in ths thread, I have a couple quick questions that someone might be able to clear up for me. I see in the list two listings for Dune, one steelbook & one Viva. What's a Viva, how is it different from a steelbook, and how do you know which you have? (Sorry if that had been explained before, but I don't have time to wade through hundreds of post to find out if it has.) Also, I recently purchased a used copy of the Grudge 2 steelbook online, and the description says that it doesn't come with any inserts. were there any inserts in this steelbook?
Not a bad couple of weeks for me for steelbooks. In addition to scoring the Godfather & Iron Man ones at FYE, I bought my first Canadian exclusive steelbook on eBay. I should be receiving the Superman Returns steelbook in the mail soon.

The SteelBook Logo will be pressed on the inside plastic holder.

As for the difference, I'll let someone else explain it.

my friend that works at Best Buy said that they'll be getting a Hancock steelbook exclusive. he also mentioned that they were going to be getting some others as well and that he'd find out and let me know later. no info on what it will look like, but i thought i'd give the heads up here in case anyone is interested in getting it.

Any word on the James Bond 007 Blu-ray SteelBook prices, at Best Buy USA?

I didn't get a chance to pick up my FYE SteelBook yet. I hope it's in good condition, I don't want a beat up copy.

What, you don't want to read through 15 pages of SteelBook news? You also don't want to use the wonderful search feature? I really shouldn't answer your question, but I'm feeling nice today since Iron-Man came out finally.

The Viva case is similar in appearance and size and they both have the same artwork, but the spines are different in length, and the inner plastic of the Viva case is a grey color, not transluscent or white/clear. You can also clearly see the grey colored plastic at the spine and at the indentation where you open the case. I think the indententation part is actually made of the grey plastic, whereas the indentation to open the case is stamped into the metal covers for a SteelBook. At a glance, you can't tell the difference.

I picked up my Ironman steelbook today. There's a ding on it, but not enough for me to go back to exchange. They had tons of Ironman steelbook as well as a Dragon Wars steelbook and a Dune steelbook. If anyone wants them for some reason shoot me a PM (be warned, Dragons Wars and Dune are both awful).

Iron Man Steelbook seems pretty available.

However, I came into 2 copies of it and I only want one. If anybody here is having trouble finding a copy I will sell you mine (providing you have Paypal) and only charge what I paid for it. If you're interested let me know because if not I will either return in to the store/ put it on ebay.

Edit: thought it would be important to note that my extra copy is being shipped to my from Futureshop so it will take a few days before I have it in hand. Should be Tomorrow or Friday i hope. Monday at the latest.

Thanks!
