yep what he said.

imho, asking employees (even managers) about pre-orders, which is which version, what is the release day, blah blah blah,... is futile. just ask for the "book". then youll be good

i went in and he didn't exactly see "SteelBook" listed for the pre-order, so he wrote it on his reciept and if it comes it that way, i guess i get it. hope that works.

maybe there are different pre-order books or something because the the title next to the bar code when i preordered stated steelbook. weird.

in any case, if the employee did write "steelbook" on the little reservation slip, i do believe you should be set

Ok, I went to FYE and YES Godfather steelbook is available there for pre-order.

Here's the SKU I was given: 400262740681

I didn't order it yet so I don't have a receipt to scan for you folks.

HTH!

Hi. Are you referring to the quality of the steelbook case itself? Have steelbooks varied in their manufactuer processes from release to release?
Thanks

crap or not, i have decided to support the franchise for now, as i really dug the 1st one. heck, i even gave the 2nd a chance with all the bad reviews. that was a mistake though lol. and imho, the animated series was cool, although it never really ended i guess?

maybe just me, but im just hoping they will continue the series

yes, quality. some steelbooks have matte finish which i like. good art work. solid closing construction, tactile, raised lettering (Cloverfield). some are just glossy, flimsy feeling with poor art.

AWE is actually better than DMC imo. i like the indented from and cloud effect. DMC is flat and bland.
i think all Disney releases are quite poor and bland actually. Ratatouille, Cars don't even have title on spine!

Did you get it Scott? In case you haven't it is very close to the Underworld:Evolution steelbook, but slightly thinner metal like the Dragon Wars Steelbook.

Also , @ bestbuy, picked up another steelbook I never heard about, Daft Punk's Electroma for $16.99 released date 08/12/08:

you are right, bestbuy.com & Amazon.com have it as 07/22/08, I only assumed it was 08/12/08 because of DVDEmpire, I thought I was lucky because it was on the bestbuy new release table today! :-(

I saw this at my local FYE store in Bronx, NYC and saw a posterboard advertisement; none of the employees could officially confirm it as whether or not it is the Iron Man steelbook cover:

*Please excuse the poor resolution, as my camera phone isn't the best in the world

It's not as cool as the originally posted one that was also the teaser poster, but I could definitely live with that. Especially if the cover is raised like "Cloverfield" or "X3."
