Too Close for Comfort S1 on 10/26!

From www.tvshowsondvd.com

Rhino Home Video invites you to get Too Close For Comfort, as The Complete 1st Season of the classic '80s sitcom debuts on DVD in October!

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/15/2004 -- Starring the late comedy veteran Ted Knight, Too Close For Comfort - The Complete 1st Season debuts on DVD on October 26, 2004 from Rhino Home Video and DLT Entertainment. Following the everyday exploits of a couple whose grown daughters live too close for comfort directly downstairs from them, the show marked the triumphant return to series television of Ted Knight ("Mary Tyler Moore Show") as father and cartoonist Henry Rush. Also starring Nancy Dussault, Deborah Van Valkenburgh, Lydia Cornell, J.M. J. Bullock and Audrey Meadows, Too Close For Comfort debuted on ABC in 1980 and quickly rose in the ratings to rival competitive shows such as Happy Days and The Dukes of Hazzard.

Priced at $39.95, the three-disc DVD set includes all 19 original broadcast episodes, interviews, commentary and more.

Synopsis :
Uptight father Henry Rush (Ted Knight) rents his downstairs apartment to his two very attractive college aged daughters (Lydia Cornell & Deborah Van Valkenburgh). While stressing about the goings-on downstairs, his overly friendly neighbor Monroe (J.M. J. Bullock) and ever-present mother-in-law (Audrey Meadows) drive him up the wall.

Hopefully, DDD will price it at $21.25, like they've done with Alf and Ellen.

I'm still not sure if I'll be buying this, but a nice low price will certainly help.

Yes! This is one of my long shots I've been waiting for! I hope they release the entire series (I'm a hopeless completist).

I'd like to have it, but I don't really want to spend more than $10 to get it - it's just not something that's really high on my list of TV shows to buy. It would be neat to see it again for nostalgia's sake, though. I loved the show when it was first on...

Is "overly friendly" a new euphemism for gay?

The only episode I remember is when Ted Knight threw Monroe down the stairs, and he wasn't entirely sorry about it.

Although I suppose by today's standards that would be gay-bashing. Except I think it was more because of Monroe being an annoying ass, rather than his sexual proclivities.

The Late Great Ted Knight. Caddyshack, MTM, and this were truly shining moments of comedy.

Long live his memory in this great DVD set!

Unfortunately, it was the lame season with Wendy & Marvin.

I really like this show too, but I'm not sure if I want to start on another sitcom. I already buying Three's Company & Married With Children... and will be getting Seinfeld later this year. Hmmm, decisions, decisions...

Don't feel too bad. Check out my owned link. If they ever complete all the seasons that I already own I can kiss a bigger dream house goodbye.

This will be the first sitcom season series I will buy(though Goodtimes has been on my wishlist for awhile)! It's hard to find this in syndication!
