Star Trek TOS- extras to be sold separately?
What are the odds that Paramount would separately make available all the extra documentaries and stuff on the three TOS boxes for those of us who have 40 separate volumes of the series sans any extras sitting on our shelves taking up tons more room than the new boxes?
Can one justify buying the new sets to conserve space on my overloaded shelves?
And how does one get Paramount to respond to a request for a missing insert from one of the volumes? I wrote to them, and never heard back.
Sigh. The trials and tribulations of dvd collecting.

Trust me, Paramount's gonna milk the Trekkies for all they're worth.
Me, I'm just glad I never bothered picking up the 40 original DVDs, nor the barebones versions of the movies.

Slim to none and Slim just got sued by Paramount for using Trek images on his fansite.

Honestly, while I'm buying the sets primarily for the episodes (which undoubtably are from the same transfers you already own) I was a little dissapointed in the extras.
I simply can't understand why Paramount seems to have little to no interest in getting commentary tracks for any of the Trek series. When you consider that #1: they are among the most EXPENSIVE sets available, #2: many of the parties involved are now making a living almost solely talking about Trek on the convention circuits, and most importantly #3, these people are NOT getting any younger!
Still, I'm the first to admit that I already have S1 on preorder!

The only smart thing that I did is that I did not buy the bare boned movies (since I already had most of them on video tape and then later on most on laser) and waited until the special editions KNOWING that it was going to happen. Just did not think about it for the shows....
As for selling the ones that I got...but that means that I would have to sit through each episode again, and much as I enjoy many of them, I am just not prepared to watch the show again for at least another decade.

Besides, look at it this way, these aren't just Star Trek DVD's, they are Star Trek collectables! Believe me, seeing how few complete collections there seems to be out there, I have no doubt that someone down the road will pay you good money for them once they are OOP.
