new "fast times"..?

Universal has a new Fast Times At Ridgemont High coming out on 9/14. Does anybody have any details on this?

I've heard same disc... Probably re-packaged.

im satisfied with the current DVD,but i what i would really like is a 5.1 mix,the mono mix on the current dvd is very flat

I heard that it is basically the same disc as the previously released only with a differnt transfer, an additional commentary, and a retrospective featurette.

I can't read sarcasm online. Which part is "basically the same disc?"

And is that stuff true, or are you being silly? I haven't been following this one because I was happy with the first release.

hopefully they can get the sound a tad better, since the voices on the current track sound like they a tin can.

From what I've read at various sites, it is probably going to be the same as the current disk, but repackaged to be sold with the newer edition of Dazed and Confused. That's a pity, because I would have REALLY liked to have a version with the extra 15 minutes or so of TV version footage included - even if just as an extra. The extra scenes really added a lot to the movie, IMHO.

Oh well, I need to get the new version anyway, as my current copy has several playback glitches during the documentary. Hopefully, the repackage will be at a lower MSRP, if nothing else.
