Jesus Christ Superstar Question
Regarding the 1970s version:
Is there a change in the lyrics? I was listening to the CD and at Judas' Death it one of the priests says: What you have done will be the saving of Israel. In the film, he sings: What you have done will be the saving of everyone.
Also, part of King Herold's Song is different from the soundtrack to the movie. Is there just a different recording, or has soemthing been changed?

Which CD are you listening to? The original recording was a record sold as a rock opera to help fund the play. When the movie was made, some actors were changed from that original recording.

There haven't been any changes to the film since its original release.

It's been years since I last heard the original London cast recording of JCSS but I do remember there being subtle differences in the arrangement I'm used to in the movie. (Ian Gillan, from Deep Purple, singing as Jesus was definitely cool.)
