Was "Ridicule" actually released today (1/13/04)?

I stopped by a few B&M stores today (e.g., Tower Records, Newbury Comics, ...) to pick up the new release of "Ridicule" (1996) but no one seems to have gotten it. Has anyone seen it on the shelves yet?

It is a catologue title, meaning a lot of stores won't get it until the weekend. It isn't shipped all the time with the new releases.

Plus, it is a smaller title. Many of those stores may not be carrying it.

If you have a Borders near you, they should have it. My store got it.

I did check bordersstores.com--which is supposed to represent the bricks-and-mortar arm of Borders--before posting and it wasn't showing up in the inventory at any of my local stores, but their online database might not be up-to-date. Thanks for the tip, I'll visit a Borders this evening to see if they have a copy.

That's a new term for me, but it sounds reasonable since it is a foreign film. Is there a good way to find out which movies are catalogue titles and which are available at the stores on release date?

I'm looking to replace my vhs copy of this film, however, I recall that it had been edited from the Theatrical version I'd seen (specifically a topless scene with Judith Godreche). If anyone else is aware of this discrepency and knows if it has been corrected with this release please share the relevant info...

I have been trying to find out if Ridicule was released in Pan&Scan or not? Most web sites says it is which is too bad as the film is shot 2.35:1.

Catalogue titles are older films that aren't released in high profile special editions or such. The B level releases of the week.

Many stores may get them in time for the release Tuesday, but others don't. Or, since they don't have displays, they just aren't in any rush to put them on the shelves.

Looked at Ridicule last night at Borders; it's 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, unless the box was wrong.
