That's what they told me at BB, and the home page on this site is wrong.

Fox cancelled the intial release which was 01.06 and then re-issued a new release for 01.13 so the correct date is 01.13 although seems some web sites still have it listed at 01.06.

Will returns to Earth (sometime after 1997...although it looks like the 1960's) in Season One's "Return From Outer Space".

The entire family returns to 1947 Earth in Season Three's "Visit To A Hostile Planet"

Dr. Smith returns to 1997 Earth in Season Three's "The Time Merchant"

There were numerous other shows where the Robinsons or Dr. Smith THOUGHT they had returned to Earth...only to discover it was an illusion or an alien planet. But the above three were real trips.

I seen it last night at Meijiers when I picked up Freddy Vs Jason, but they had it tagged at 75.99. That seemed a bit off to me so I passed on it. I'll have to check some online retailers.

I don't know about the availability at B&M stores but I received my copy ordered online today. Paid about $50 shipped.

Why is the price so high on this set? Are they thinking the set will only sell to a very limited market so they need to charge more for it? I bought Sanford and Son for $19.99 and will buy Giligan's Island next month for $27.00 or so.

I would consider Lost in Space if it were in the 20-30 dollar range. However, I can't justify the higher price tag for my tastes.

'

It is 8 DVDs. Aren't these hour long shows? You can't really compare that to sitcoms. It's like comparing Friends to X-Files.

OK, here's a clue for ya:

LiS Season 1 is 1568 minutes long!!! That's about 30 1-hr (50+ minute) episodes on *8* discs, incl. the original pilot (which I've never seen).

Sanford & Son is 364 minutes for 13 half-hour episodes on 2 discs. Gilligan S1 is about 900 minutes for 36 half-hour episodes on 3 discs.

Start to get the picture yet? LiS is a bargain IMO, besides being simply priceless.

Actually this set is more comparable to something like Star Trek Next Generation in size. The series you are using for comparison are less than half the size of this set. A price range of $40 to $60 would be more fair

Absolutely! I don't know what the technical quality of the discs is like, but to have the entire 1st season for $50 shipped (from Amazon) is a bargain. Not to mention having it on a media more durable than VHS.

Actually, they did in at least 3 episodes, off the top fo my head (maybe 4).

One was when Will used a "mesa" beam to transport back to earth a few months or years after the Jupter2 was lost. I dont know what perverted time warp this Vermont town was living in, but i'm surprised they had running water.

Another was the 2nd episode of the 3rd season, one of my favorites in fact, when the J2 went through a time warp and ended up in Earth in the past.

I seem to recall at least two others, one was a view from a street on earth through some sort of majic door at a toystore. Vague memory of that, and lastly

I also remember the J2 running out of a fuel and unable to stop at earth. I just remember someone telling them good luck or soemthing. I*m really looking forward to watching this entire series again..

Jim

Was just curiouis about something, for those of you looking for LIS, is there a reason why you don't order it online? Its already showing up at many of the major DVD stores. I buy most of my discs online. Just curious because i'm in Norway and wonder if online shopping is just a bit behind in the US: I was recently in Texas and foudn the prices not comparable, even when the shipping costs to norway.

Take it easy. My comments were not a personal attack on you. Grow up a little.

The info. Bargain Flix reported is that it's 196 minutes. That's why I thought it was priced too high.

Get the picture?
