Sanford and Son Season Three

Hi! Can anyone tell me when Sanford and Son Season Three is going to be released? I have looked everywhere I can think of to find out.

Thanks!

Does Season 3 have the traffic court episode? Also, is this the season where Red Fox leaves?

I'm not sureif Foxx left this season. I may be in the minority but I loved the Grady-centric episodes. Whitman Mayo is great and was hilarious in Foxx's absence.

Foxx left halfway through this season. I for one, didn't care much at all for the Grady episodes aside from the first one where Fred was absent and even then, just because it was obvious that Grady's material was written for Fred. I think the traffic court one came later down the line in season 4 or 5, by the way, but I could be wrong. This'll be a good set, but personally, it'll be bittersweet, since I'll only enjoy the first half.

I didn't laugh much during these episodes, so I'll have to pass on this season. Grady was funny as Grady, but the show always needed Fred and Aunt Esther to crack me up...

Why did Fox leave? Health or money reasons?

He was holding out for a raise. He returned after a few episodes for the rest of the series.

Columbia TriStar has issued release information today about Sanford and Son: The Third Season on DVD. Another 3-disc set, the running time is 596 minutes for the 24 episodes that aired that season. This is presented exactly as it aired: in 4x3 video format, with Mono sound, and closed captioned for the hearing impaired. The extras include an insert with an episode breakdown and some "fun facts", plus bonus trailers on the first disc.

List price is $29.95, and this junk will hit the streets on October 7th. Here are front & back covers, plus all three (similar-looking) main menus:

I have fond memories of this show - I've been putting off getting them on DVD, but my resistance is slowly fading...

Good to see them getting these out in a timely manner, will make the pain between Married.. with Children sets partially bearable.

There were only 6 more season's total of Sandford and Son. There was however the short lived Sanford Arms (8 episodes without Fred or Lamont), then there was Sanford (2 short seasons with Fred but without Lamont). I'm hoping that they will release these after the last season of S&S.

I liked the one where Grady bought the pimpy velvet painting for his daughter's new house.

Holy crap, finally. I know they announce this kind of thing about 2 months before release, but considering we only had to wait 6 months between one and 2 I thought this would be coming in August. Finally an announcement, I'm happy.

Thanks for the update.
